Star Wars: The Acolyte Teaser Trailer and Premiere Date Released by Disney+
The galaxy ventures into the High Republic era with Star Wars: The Acolyte.
A day after Star Wars posted the show’s poster, teasing something more is coming, Lucasfilm has released a nearly two-minute trailer for its upcoming thrilling, live-action series.
Star Wars: The Acolyte, created by Leslye Headland and based on Star Wars by George Lucas, will make its two-episode on Tuesday, June 4, on Disney+.

The Lucasfilm original series takes place a century before Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, where “an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past.” Lee Jung-jae stars as Jedi Master Sol, and Amanda Stenberg stars as Mae.
“As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems…,” per the show’s synopsis.
Star Wars: The Acolyte‘s trailer begins with a group of younglings listening to Master Sol, who says, “Close your eyes. Your eyes can deceive you. We must not trust them. Tell me what comes to your mind.” As the younglings respond with “life,” “balance,” and “fire,” flashes of what awaits during the series appear.
There is a fight sequence involving Carrie-Anne Moss’s Master Indara. The footage ends with the threat of a red-bladed lightsaber. Star Wars: The Acolyte finds someone killing Jedi during a time of peace, proving that darkness is rising.

Jordie Turner-Smith’s character, Aniseya, voices the conflict with the lines, “This isn’t about good or bad. This is about power and who is allowed to use it.”
“If Star Wars is about the underdog versus the institution, [in The Acolyte] the Jedi are the institution,” Leslye Headland told StarWars.com.
“I was so interested in a storyline where the Jedi were at the height of their power — and I don’t mean The Phantom Menace, because at that point, there’s a Sith Lord in the Senate that they’re not picking up on,” Headland added.
StarWars.com describes Headland’s approach to “seeing a Sith seemed as likely as encountering a velociraptor.” “Like it’s a thing I’ve heard of, but it’s not a thing that you would ever consider you’d be interacting with,” Headland clarified.

Star Wars: The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss. Their casting was announced in November 2022.
Leslye Headland serves as executive producer along with Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are co-executive producers. Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Eileen Shim, and Rob Bredow are the producers of Star Wars: The Acolyte.
Headland directed the two premiere episodes. The show’s other producers include Kogonada (Eps. 103 & 107), Alex Garcia Lopez (Eps. 104 & 105), and Hanelle Culpepper (Eps. 106 & 108).
The award-winning composite Michael Abels scored Star Wars: The Acolyte.
