The Acolyte Cast Announced by Disney+
It’s time to visit a galaxy far far away during a time that sees the height of the Jedi Order. The Acolyte, the latest addition to the Star Wars world from Lucasfilm, will stream exclusively on Disney+ upon release.
According to the official Star Wars website, Disney+ has now announced more of the cast for the series. They join the previously announced Amandla Stenberg, known for The Hate U Give and The Hunger Games.

Joining Stenberg are Lee Jung-jae, who is fresh off his Emmy win for Squid Game, Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Jodie Turner-Smith (The Last Ship), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll and Chicago Fire), Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones), and Carrie-Anne Moss (Marvel’s Jessica Jones).
This star-studded cast is sure to turn heads as new members of an already vast universe of Jedis and the like.
TV Line also reports that The Acolyte will take place in the final days of the High Republic during a time that is “rife with shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers.”
Per their report, Disney+’s newest details about the series include that “A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes that reveal forces that are more sinister than they ever could have imagined.”

The High Republic era occurs centuries before Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. This means The Acolyte will likely depict the largest number of the Jedi Order than ever before — back before they started to be torn down by the Sith.
Lucasfilm released a new behind-the-scenes photo from the mystery-thriller series. This era of the Star Wars universe is a time that hasn’t been explored much. The Acolyte could give more context to the downfall of the Jedi.
The Acolyte comes from creator, showrunner, and executive producer Leslye Headland, known for her work on the hit series Russian Doll. So Headland will reunite with Barnett on the Disney+ series, and Headland will direct the pilot.
The series executive producers include Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing. As the Star Wars website confirms, The Acolyte has begun production in the U.K. The Acolyte does not have a release date yet, but it will stream exclusively on Disney+.
