‘Gossip Girl’ Star Leighton Meester Set to Return to The CW on ‘Good Cop/Bad Cop’

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester will return to The CW on the new, one-hour procedural comedic drama Good Cop/Bad Cop.

Meester starred as Blair Waldorf on six seasons of Gossip Girl from 2007 to 2012 on The CW. She will star alongside Luke Cook (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Clancy Brown (Dexter: New Blood).

The CW Network, Roku Originals, and Stan teamed up for the original scripted series. John Quaintance (Reboot, Will & Grace) is the creator.

Good Cop/Bad Cop comes from Future Shack Entertainment and Jungle Entertainment. It is set to debut on The CW in 2025. It will also stream on The Roku Channel in the U.S. and Stan in Australia. 

Good Cop/Bad Cop follows Meester as Lou and Cook as Henry. They are “an odd couple sister and brother detective team in a small Pacific Northwest police force,” per its synopsis.

“They must contend with colorful residents, a serious lack of resources, and their very complicated dynamic with each other and with their police chief, Big Hank — who happens to be their father.”

Brown portrays Lou and Henry’s father.

Production on Good Cop/Bad Cop‘s eight-episode season is slated to begin later this spring in Queensland, Australia. The show comes from Future Shack Entertainment and Jungle Entertainment for commissioning broadcasters The CW Network and The Roku Channel in the U.S. and Stan in Australia.

Good Cop/Bad Cop is written and executive produced by John Quaintance. Additionally, the series is executive produced by Jeff Wachtel, Trent O’Donnell, and Chloe Rickard.

O’Donnell also directs, with Phil Lloyd set as co-executive producer. The new TV series is also produced in association with and distributed by ITV Studios.

Good Cop/Bad Cop will premiere on The CW in 2025.
