Death and Other Details Trailer and Premiere Date Released by Hulu
Death and Other Details, a new murder mystery series, is coming to Hulu later this month.
Starring Violett Beane and Mandy Patinkin, the upcoming series follows Beane’s Imogene Scott when she winds up in the middle of a murder investigation on a lavishly restored Mediterranean ocean liner where billions are on the line.
Death and Other Details debuts with a two-episode premiere on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, on Hulu. Then, one episode will stream weekly until the two-episode finale on March 5, 2024.
The suspect in the show’s mystery is a grumpy passenger who, per the two-minute trailer, doesn’t have a friendly relationship with anyone aboard. Imogene becomes the prime suspect after being found in the wrong place at the wrong time — presumably after crushing the victim’s costly watch.
Death and Other Details‘s 10-episode season will see Imogene team up with Patinkin’s Rufus Cotesworth, the world’s greatest detective who already knows everything Imogene just figured out. “It’s more fun when you unravel it yourself,” Rufus replies in his defense.
The other suspects include “every pampered guest and every exhausted crew member,” per the show’s synopsis. All of whom Rufus questions individually. While the trailer teases Rufus’s interactions with the other passengers, one thing is sure — details matter.
Death and Other Details also stars Lauren Patten, Rahul Kohli, Angela Zhou, Hugo Diego Garcia, Pardis Saremi, and Linda Emond.
The show’s synopsis reads as follows:
Set amidst the glamor of the global elite, Death and Other Details centers on the brilliant and restless Imogene Scott, who finds herself in the wrong place/wrong time (okay, it was kinda her fault) and becomes the prime suspect in a locked room murder mystery. The setting? A lavishly restored Mediterranean ocean liner. Suspects? Every pampered guest and every exhausted crew member. The problem? To prove her innocence, she must partner with a man she despises—Rufus Cotesworth, the world’s greatest detective.
Death and Other Details is written and executive produced by Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams, who also serve as showrunners. Marc Webb directed the show’s pilot and executive produces along with Mark Martin for Black Lamb. David Petrarca is also an executive producer.
