After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson Sets Premiere Date on CBS
The new late-night series After Midnight, hosted by Taylor Tomlinson, will premiere later this month.
Inspired by Comedy Central’s Emmy Award-winning series @midnight, After Midnight premieres on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, on CBS.
“The smartest show on television about the dumbest things on the internet” will air at 12:37 am ET/PT, following episodes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The episodes will also be available to stream on Paramount+.
CBS announced the late-night series would be produced by CBS Studios with Stephen Colbert’s Spartina Industries, and Funny Or Die in November 2023, setting an early 2024 premiere date.
“We are thrilled to be reunited with our friends at Funny Or Die,” Stephen Colbert said.
“My hope is that, every night, After Midnight will be just as ridiculous as the internet is every day. Plus, the original @midnight aired after The Colbert Report, so welcoming this new show to 12:30 feels like coming home,” Colbert added.
Colbert announced that Taylor Tomlinson, the critically acclaimed comedian, would host the show on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on the same day that CBS announced the show.
Tomlinson has two successful comedy specials, Look at You and Quarter Life Crisis, and a comedy tour, Have It All Tour, that sells out shows across the country and worldwide.
On After Midnight, Tomlinson will welcome a panel of guests from across entertainment, comedy, music, and beyond. The latest late-night comedy series on CBS is “about what set the internet abuzz that day with a game show feel,” per its official synopsis. The upcoming guests will be announced at a later date.
Executive produces on After Midnight include Stephen Colbert, Carrie Byalick, Tom Purcell and Evelyn McGee Colbert of Spartina Industries; James Dixon of Dixon Talent; Joe Farrell, Mike Farah, Whitney Hodack and Henry R. Muñoz III of Funny Or Die; and Jason U. Nadler of Serious Business.
Jack Martin and Eric Pierce are co-showrunners and executive producers. Nadler co-created the Funny Or Die-produced @midnight, while Martin was the showrunner for all four seasons. Jo Firestone is co-executive producer and head writer. Alexx Wells will also serve as co-executive producer, and Sharon Everitt will direct.
