The Recruit Adds Teo Yoo for Season 2 on Netflix
Teo Yoo is joining Netflix’s action-thriller The Recruit for its second season.
Netflix announced the casting news on X (formerly Twitter), sharing that Yoo’s character is “a highly skilled South Korean NIS agent with a subversive sense of humor — willing to go to any lengths to protect those he cares about.”
Yoo joins Noah Centineo, who returns as Owen Hendricks, a fledgling lawyer at the CIA who becomes entangled with dangerous international politics when a former asset, Laura Haddock’s Max Meladze, threatens to expose her relationship with the agency if it doesn’t exonerate her of a serious crime.

TV Line reports that The Recruit Yoo will be a series regular and Season 2 will see Owen “pulled into a life-threatening espionage situation in South Korea, only to realize that the bigger threat just might be coming from inside the Agency.” The second season does not have a premiere date yet.
From creator, showrunner, and executive producer Alexi Hawley, The Recruit debuted its eight-episode first season on Friday, December 16, 2022, on Netflix. The streaming service renewed the drama for Season 2 nearly a month later.
“I know I speak for our entire cast and executive team at eOne and Netflix when I say that we’re thrilled to be returning to The Recruit for a second season. I’m looking forward to seeing what [showrunner] Alexi Hawley has in store for us all,” Centineo told Netflix’s Tudum in January 2023.
“I’m thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, action-packed world of The Recruit. Seeing how invested our audience became in the show’s adventurous take on the spy world has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to turn it all up to 11 in Season 2,” Hawley told Tudum.

The Recruit Season 1 starred Centineo, Haddock, Aarti Mann, Colton Dunn, Fivel Stewart, Daniel Quincy Annoh, Kristian Bruun, Vondie Curtis Hall, Byron Mann, Angel Parker, and Kaylah Zander.
