Girls5eva previously streamed exclusively on Peacock, where it premiered in 2021 and is currently streaming.

The musical comedy is the story of “a one-hit-wonder girl group from the 90s whose return to the charts inspires its members to reunite the band,” per its description.

From creator and executive producer Meredith Scardino (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Girls5eva stars Sara Bareilles as Dawn, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Wickie, Paula Pell as Gloria, and Busy Philipps as Summer.

Girls5Eva Season 2 Episode 8, “Tour Mode,” — the Season 2 finale that aired in June 2022 — found the group overcoming their fears about leaving their families and about to depart on their tour.

“With no plan, tour manager, or venues secured, the ladies pile into a van and hit the great unknown, doing their damnedest to promote their album and get back on top,” per Netflix’s synopsis of Season 3.

The season will focus on their life on the road and the challenges they face as a group trying to stage their comeback and as individuals managing their long-distance relationships. It’s also teased the group will cross paths with the biggest pop star on the planet.

Girls5eva Season 3’s official synopsis reads as follows:

The members of the late ‘90s girl-group Girls5eva – Dawn, Wickie, Summer, and Gloria – have reunited and recorded a new album, Returnity, so it’s time for the next logical step: a comeback tour. With no plan, tour manager, or venues secured, the ladies pile into a van and hit the great unknown, doing their damnedest to promote their album and get back on top. In the process, Girls5eva will grapple with life on the road, see their relationships tested, play a billionaire’s birthday party, sow their oats, confront parents they believe held them back, cross paths with the biggest pop star on the planet, and question if they really want “the big time” again. Will Girls5eva fast-track their comeback and sell their tour documentary in the process? Or will the road destroy them?
