A First Look at The Crown Season 6 Part 2

News, The Crown

It’s a new era on The Crown Season 6 Part 2.

The show’s final six episodes premiere on Thursday, December 14, on Netflix. As previously reported, Netflix split The Crown‘s sixth and final into two parts, with the first four episodes premiering on Thursday, November 16.

TV Line reports that these final six episodes will see Ed McVey and Luther Ford step into the roles of Prince William and Prince Harry, respectively. Meg Bellamy also joins as Kate Middleton.

Imelda Staunton and Jonathan Pryce return as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, with Dominic West as Prince Charles, Olivia Williams as Camilla, and Lesley Manville as Elizabeth’s sister Princess Margaret.

These six episodes will follow Prince William as he “tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother’s death as the monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion,” per the season’s synopsis.

“I’ve always been a fan of the show, so to be part of it is pretty crazy, and it’s nice to finally be celebrating it. I think just to be a part of the show is just amazing in any capacity. It was fantastic,” McVey told Netflix’s TUDUM, who revealed the first-look images.

The Crown‘s final season takes place from 1997 to 2005 during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. “As she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the Queen reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the beginnings of a new Royal fairytale in William and Kate,” according to the season’s synopsis.

“The last third is much happier for [Charles] as it ends with his marriage to Camilla,” Dominic West told TUDUM.

Netflix announced that the critically acclaimed series would end with its sixth season in July 2020. That news came ahead of Season 4’s release in November 2020 and Season 5’s in November 2022.
