Alec and the team investigate a suspicious plane crash on The IrrationalSeason 1 Episode 3, “The Barnum Effect.”
After solving the attempted murder of a friend on The Irrational Season 1 Episode 2, “Dead Woman Walking,” Alec and the team take on a less personal case. Less personal, perhaps, but no less dramatic as this week’s case involves a plane crash believed to be caused intentionally by the pilot. At least initially.

Things are never what they look like on The Irrational, though, and as Alec learns more about the pilot in search of a motive, what happened becomes less certain.
While there doesn’t seem to be a connection between the victim/suspect and Alec on “The Barnum Effect” as there was on The Irrational Season 1 Episode 1, “Pilot,” and “Dead Woman Walking,” that doesn’t mean it isn’t personal at all.
The trailer for “The Barnum Effect” shows Rizwan witnessing the crash up close. That will no doubt make things feel at least a bit more personal for one member of the team.
On “Dead Woman Walking,” Alec uses some flower pedals to conduct a sent experiment. The experiment triggers a memory for Alec. He remembers a logo on a van that sped away from the scene of the explosion that gave him his burns.
Will we see any follow-up on that clue as Alec on “The Barnum Effect? Will it give Alec a new lead or trigger a new memory?
