‘Totally Killer’ Trailer Takes Kiernan Shipka to the 1980s

News, TV Movies

Kiernan Shipka stars as scream queen Jamie Hughes in the upcoming must-see slasher-comedy Totally Killer.

Continuing Prime Video’s collaboration with Blumhouse Television, the Rated R film travels back to 1987 after Jamie comes face-to-face with a masked killer named the “Sweet Sixteen Killer,” 35 years after the shocking murder of three teens.

Totally Killer premieres on Friday, October 6, on Prime Video.

The infamous killer returns on Halloween night to claim a fourth victim, Jamie, whose overprotective mom (Julie Bowen) attempts to urge her to stay inside and stay home to celebrate the spooky holiday. Instead, Jamie goes out and eventually crosses paths with the Sweet 16 Killer, only to evade them in a science fair exhibit.

A technical accident sends Jamie back to when the original killings happened. “Forced to navigate the unfamiliar and outrageous culture of the 1980s, Jamie teams up with her teen mom (Olivia Holt) to take down the killer once and for all, before she’s stuck in the past forever,” per Totally Killer‘s synopsis.

While Totally Killer‘s run time clocks in at 1 hour and 43 minutes, Jamie learns in the trailer that she has 7 and 1/2 hours to escape past.

Teaming up with her mom and her mom’s friends is easier said than done because of the Back to the Future of it all, which Jamie directly references to authorities, and the group of teens celebrate a 16th birthday at a creepy cabin in the woods.
