Goosebumps Sets October Premiere Date on Disney+ and Hulu

The chilling new series Goosebumps, inspired by R.L. Stine’s bestselling books, will make a fittingly haunting series debut.

The show from Disney Branded Television and Sony Pictures Television will premiere the first five episodes on Friday, October 13, on Disney+ and Hulu as part of the former’s “Hallowstream” and the latter’s “Huluween” celebrations.

Subsequent new episodes of Goosebumps‘ 10-part series will stream weekly.

Within the announcement about Goosebumps, Disney shared that new and returning customers can subscribe to Disney+ Basic (with ads) for $1.99/month for three months through Wednesday, September 20.

Goosebumps will also air its first two episodes on Freeform on Friday, October 13, as part of its previously announced 31 Nights of Halloween programming

Per its logline, the show “follows a group of five high schoolers as they embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle — while also unearthing dark secrets from their parents’ past.”

The show will take inspiration from five of the most popular middle-grade books written by Stine and published by Scholastic — Say Cheese and Die!, The Haunted Mask, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms!, and Night of the Living Dummy.

Developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letter, who also serve as executive producers, Goosebumps stars Justin Long and Rachael Harris, alongside newcomers Zack Morris, Isa Briones, Miles McKenna, Ana Yi Puig, and Will Price.

Hilary Winston, Neal H. Moritz, Scholastic Entertainment’s Iole Lucchese, Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, Scholastic Entertainment’s Caitlin Friedman, Erin O’Malley, and Kevin Murphy executive produce. James Eagan and Nick Adams co-executive produce.

Goosebumps premieres on Friday, October 13, on Disney+ and Hulu.
