The Pitt Renewed for Season 3 at HBO Max Ahead of Season 2 Premiere

It’s a good week to be a fan of The Pitt!

HBO Max has renewed the medical drama for Season 3, the day before it returns for its sophomore season. The Pitt Season 2 premieres on Thursday, January 8, at 9/8c.

Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and HBO Max Content, made the announcement at the show’s Season 2 premiere event in Los Angeles.

This news also comes after The Pitt took home three wins out of its four nominations at the 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards. Noah Wyle won for Best Actor in a Drama Series, while Katherine LaNasa won for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. The Pitt itself won Best Drama Series. 

The Emmy-winning series is described as “a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.”

The Pitt Season 2 stars Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon, Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans, Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Mohan, Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay, Taylor Dearden as Dr. King, Isa Briones as Dr. Santos, Gerran Howell as Whitaker, and Shabana Azeez as Javadi. 

Sepideh Moafi joins the series this season as Dr. Al-Hashimi.

The season will also be available to stream in American Sign Language (ASL). The episodes will be interpreted by James “Joey” Cavalry, Amelia Hensley, and Stephanie Nogueras, and directed by Sarah Tubert.

There is also an official video companion podcast, hosted by Hunter Harris and Dr. Alok Patel, that will be available to watch on HBO Max immediately following each episode. The first episode of The Pitt Podcast, posted yesterday, was a look back at Season 1.
