Danny Glover Is Santa Claus in Disney Channel and Disney+’s ‘The Naughty Nine’

A Christmas heist comes to the North Pole in the teaser trailer for Disney Channel and Disney+’s The Naughty Nine.

Disney Branded Television announced that the new Disney Original Movie will debut on Wednesday, November 22, at 8/7c on Disney Channel and streams on Thursday, November 23 (Thanksgiving Day,) on Disney+.

The Naughty Nine follows a clever crew of nine enterprising kids — Andy, Dulce, Lewis, Laurel, Albert, Rose, Jon Anthony, and Ha-Yoon — who plan to steal Christmas back from Santa Claus at the North Pole. Winslow Fegley’s Andy is the fifth grader who hatches the scheme after he wakes up without any presents.

“Realizing he must have landed on the “naughty list” and feeling unfairly maligned, Andy pulls together a team of eight other “naughty listers” to help him execute an elaborate heist in Santa’s Village at the North Pole to get the presents they feel they deserve,” per The Naughty Nine‘s official description.

“Along the way, the group comes to realize that the very best way off the naughty list is to redirect their unique talents for good ― instead of mischief.”

The Disney Original Movie features Lethal Weapon‘s Don Glover as Santa Claus, “a wise and imposing figure with a twinkle of humor who is always one step ahead of Andy,” per the character’s description.

Glover’s prolific career includes the accolade of Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Honorary Academy Award for his decades-long advocacy for justice and human rights, as honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in 2022.

Alongside Glover and Fegley, The Naughty Nine stars Camila Rodriguez as Dulce, Andy’s best friend and archery expert; Anthony Joo (New Amsterdam) as North Pole conspiracy theorist Lewis; Imogen Cohen (The Fairly Oddparents) as daredevil “wheel woman” Ha-Yoon; Clara Stack (Hawkeye) as animal whisperer Rose.

The ensemble also includes Deric McCabe (A Wrinkle in Time) as master-of-disguise Jon Anthony; Ayden Elijah as adorable charmer Albert; and Madilyn Kellam (Afterwalker) as Andy’s older sister, Laurel, a skilled gymnast seeking to regain her confidence.

Baby Daddy‘s Derek Theler rounds out the group as Bruno, a disgruntled cargo pilot who claims to have witnessed Santa’s sleigh.

Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas wrote and executive produced The Naughty Nine, directed by Alberto Belli. Suzanne Todd is also an executive producer.
