Silo Renewed for Season 2 at Apple TV+
Silo, the science fiction series based on Hugh Howey’s trilogy of dystopian novels, is coming back for Season 2 at Apple TV+.
Silo Season 1 Episode 1, “Freedom Day,” premiered on Friday, May 5, and, according to Apple TV+, continues to grow in viewership with its week-to-week release.
This renewal news comes seven episodes into its 10-episode debut season. Graham Yost, who also serves as showrunner, created the series. Silo stars Rebecca Ferguson, who also serves as an executive producer, as an engineer named Juliette.

“It has been enormously fulfilling to see the engrossing, atmospheric, and beautifully crafted sci-fi epic Silo quickly become Apple’s number one drama series,” Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, said.
“As audiences around the world have become gripped by the mysteries and conspiracies buried within this fascinating subterranean world, viewership only continues to climb, and we are so excited for more secrets of the silo to be revealed in season two,” Cherniss added.
“We cannot wait for audiences around the world to immerse themselves in the epic world we have created to bring Hugh Howey’s novels to life,” Yost said.
“Apple has believed in our vision from day one, and it’s an honor to have the opportunity to dig deeper into this story and peel back the layers to our characters in the silo,” Yost continued.

Silo tells the story of the final ten thousand people on Earth, attempting to survive the deadly world just outside their underground home. One of the biggest questions that looms over the sci-fi series is when and why the silo was built.
However, anyone who tries to discover the truth faces deadly consequences. Juliette pushes back against those odds as she “seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will,” per its synopsis.
The Apple TV+ series debuts a new episode this Friday, Silo Season 1 Episode 8, “Hanna.” In it, “New information causes Juliette to see her family’s past differently—and she finally gains access to the silo’s biggest secrets.”
Silo also stars Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, David Oyelowo, Rashida Jones, and Tim Robbins. Apple TV+ produces Silo by AMC Studios, with Yost, Howey, Ferguson, Morten Tyldum, Nina Jack, Fred Golan, Rémi Aubuchon, and Ingrid Escajeda executive producing. Tyldum also directs the first three episodes.
