Not Dead Yet Season 1 Episode 11 Review: Not Feeling It Yet
After the end of a long relationship and a rebound with someone who wound up being a ghost, Nell’s romantic status is on fragile ground. She decides to cast it aside completely on Not Dead Yet Season 1 Episode 11, “Not Feeling It Yet.”
A fling is entirely new territory for her, but her first attempt actually starts out great when a very handsome traveling reporter named James lands in the newsroom. For someone who typically gets in too deep, she makes it to copy room sex very quickly.
Two issues arise. First, Nell decides to kill two birds with one stone and use a double date with James to bring some heat back into Sam’s relationship with her husband. With them being parents of young kids, that’s asking a lot of both pairs involved.

JIMMY BELLINGER, LAUREN ASH
Her determination to keep things overly physical gets a tad grating here. Kids are going to come up even in casual conversation, and Disney movies can always be a welcome topic in my mind. Her attempts to push down any topic someone under 18 could hear doesn’t work as well as she thinks.
Then again, maybe she has a point. The other issue is that James quickly decides he wants something more. Right now, she just can’t do that. Much of that centers on a very specific person who is about to become even more relevant than is has been so far.
It still sucks. Nell may be best off single right now, but it’s a lonely state for a hopeless romantic. It doesn’t help that our sweet doggie wingman is also the ghost of the episode. (Darn you, Not Dead Yet, this might hurt even more than Monty.)

GINA RODRIGUEZ
This is also another episode in which the other side plots don’t give us much to work with. In one, Dennis gears for the on-air slot that will be left in the wake of James’s brief tenure. He’s actually pretty good in the end, but his nerves might make this all for naught.
In another, Edward takes a stab a dating app, and while his eccentric and very specific views on some subjects may be deeply relatable, they don’t land a ton of matches. But one is all you really need, and one is what he gets. Here’s hoping we see her soon!
Even if we do, though, she might not get a chance to be the romantic interest who catches our attention. That’s because the episode ends with our canine ghost friend dragging Nell off for one one more surprise—her ex, Phillip, is in town.

RICK GLASSMAN, ANGELA E. GIBBS
This is so foreseeable that it hardly counts as a plot twist, but as for what it means I can only keep my fingers crossed. Best case scenario, it gives Nell a chance to talk and get needed closure. Yet with the season finale coming next, we have no idea what will be done for the drama.
Other Notes
- Edward’s misophonia is so relatable I feel in my soul, and chewing noises aren’t even a trigger for me.
- I wish I could fake my way out of awkward conversations with Lexi’s level of candor.
- I’ve already spoken for Disney is general, but just to reiterate: seeing Moana 37 times is totally a turn-on.
