And Just Like That… Season 2 Coming to MAX in June
And just like that… the Sex and the City saga continues.
Newly rebranded MAX has released a teaser trailer for Season 2 of And Just Like That…, which is coming this June.
The revival series boasted big viewing numbers for its first season. And Just Like That…‘s Season 1 premiere ranked in the Top 10 of all HBO Max’s movies and series debuts, including both HBO and Max originals, according to the streaming service via Deadline.
As previously reported, And Just Like That…‘s renewal news came out just under two months following the Season 1 finale, Episode 10, “Seeing the Light.”
“I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters – played by these powerful, amazing actors. The fact is, we’re all thrilled. And Just Like That… our Sex life is back,” executive producer Michael Patrick King said in a statement about the Season 2 renewal.
And Just Like That… Season 2 will not see Kim Cattrall reprise her Sex and the City role as Samantha Jones, as far as reported so far. However, another familiar Sex and the City face will return to shake things up for Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw.
John Corbett is reprising his role as Carrie’s former flame, Aidan Shaw, for the upcoming second season. A sneak peek of Carrie and Aidan’s reunion can be seen in the teaser trailer.
The new footage also sees the characters discussing a MILF list that Charlotte is eager to get in her email and Miranda and Che taking the next step in their relationship.
Corbett joins And Just Like That…‘s returning series regulars, Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler, Christopher Jackson, Niall Cunningham, Cathy Ang, and Alexa Swinton.
And Just Like That… picks up roughly 20 years after the original HBO series Sex and the City, created by Darren Star and based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell, ended. It chronicles the lives of Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte, now in their 50s, in much the same way.
The revival series is executive produced by Michael Patrick King, John Melfi, Julie Rottenberg, Elisa Zuritsky, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon. King and Rottenberg also have writing and directing credits.
Nixon, who directed And Just Like That Season 1 Episode 6, “Diwali,” will return to the director’s chair for a Season 2 episode.
