Love & Death Premiere Date and Teaser Trailer Released by HBO Max
An affair takes a deadly turn in the teaser trailer for HBO Max’s Love & Death, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Jesse Plemons.
The drama, written by David E. Kelley and directed by Lesli Linka Glatter, debuts with three episodes on Thursday, April 27, followed by one episode weekly through May 25.
Love & Death is inspired by the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs and a collection of articles from Texas Monthly (“Love & Death in Silicon Prairie,” Part I & II).

Per its logline, the seven-episode Max Original limited series “tells the true story of Candy and Pat Montgomery and Betty and Allan Gore – two churchgoing couples enjoying their smalltown Texas life… until an extramarital affair leads somebody to pick up an axe.”
“Something’s been bothering me a little. I have done all the things a wife is supposed to do. The house, the meals…,” Candy ponders in Love & Death’s teaser trailer.
The new footage sees that Olsen’s Candy Montgomery initiates the affair with Allan Gore after reflecting and wondering what the payback is for her dedication to the role of a wife.
Despite Candy’s assertion that she doesn’t want to see anybody get hurt, the trailer suggests that Candy and Allan’s affair takes a turn after Pat’s wife becomes suspicious.

Love & Death marks Elizabeth Olsen’s return to the small screen after Marvel Studios’ hit series WandaVision in 2021. Olsen will share the screen with a Marvel alum as Krysten Ritter, who played the titular character in Netflix’s Jessica Jones, is a part of the Max Original’s cast.
Coincidentally, HBO Max revealed Love & Death‘s teaser trailer and premiere date on Elizabeth Olsen’s birthday.
Along with Olsen, Plemons, and Ritter, the series also stars Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, Tom Pelphrey, Keir Gilchrist, and Elizabeth Marvel. It is an official selection of the 2023 SXSW Film & TV Festival. HBO Max shared in October 2021 that Love & Death‘s production was underway in Kyle, Texas.
Love & Death is co-produced by Lionsgate. David E. Kelley serves as an executive producer through David E. Kelley Productions; Nicole Kidman and Per Saari through Blossom Films; Lesli Linka Glatter; Scott Brown and Megan Creydt through Texas Monthly; Matthew Tinker; Michael Klick and Helen Verno.
