Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 15 Review: The Wild and The Innocent
For the first time in three seasons, Law & Order: Organized Crime manages to give us an episode that is uneventful and boring. You’d think that an episode centered on two rival bike gangs would be anything but, and you’d be wrong.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 15, “The Wild and The Innocent,” starts interestingly with one of Stabler’s old military buddies coming into the picture. Unfortunately, it drops off soon after, leading to an hour-long snooze fest.
Why Do We Care?

The biggest question on our minds during this whole episode is a resounding “why.” Usually, when this show introduces characters connected to one of the task force team members, we are given time to sit on them.
This lack of care given to what is supposed to be an important past relationship for Stabler leads us toward zoning out for the duration. The only information we get about David Carver is that he was with Stabler in the Marines.
It’s clear they have a history — based on the direction their interaction takes — however, what remains a mystery. Our compassion falls short without knowing who this man is and why we are trying to move heaven and earth to get his daughter back.
Ultimately, this episode becomes just another excuse for the unit to insert themselves into a dangerous situation that they have no business. It’s fantastic to know that this team would have Stabler’s back regardless if we didn’t know this already.
After all, the first three seasons of this show have been nothing but the team taking a bullet or entering dangerous situations for Stabler.
Where is the Plastic Gun Story Going?

The other question we need answers to comes from the side story about plastic guns. Law & Order: Organized Crime does have a habit of prolonging stories to last an episode or two — the most exciting ones last half a season.
Perhaps this means we will get more information in the weeks to come. If so, we need more from this episode to keep us interested and focused on the plot.
We deserve some direction to keep us keyed in. So far, we have a plot to 3D print guns and use them on the streets. Jet is starting something with making them traceable, or whatever it was that she had the gun expert due in NYPD’s lab.
All of this is interesting but fails to give depth to what happens throughout “The Wild and The Innocent.” Now that Jamie is also involved in distributing these NYPD-manufactured guns, things are bound to heat up.
My only question is what the end game for this plot is going to be. Will it take more guns off the streets? Is their story going to create significant change within the crime world of NYC?
If not, then what is the point? At his juncture with the show, a small story like this seems beneath them and not worthy of the fans’ time.
Give us something we can chew on. For example, focus on Teddy Silas again or turn a page with Eamon Murphy that will bring him closer to actual jail time. Anything worth thinking about beyond the confines of the episode run time.
