American Auto Season 2 Episode 4 Exclusive Sneak Peek: Layoffs
Significant changes are on the horizon for Payne Motors.
As the team continues to adjust to the company’s new normal company, Katherine has a big decision to make on American Auto Season 2 Episode 4, “Cost Cutting.” Making job cuts are never easy, as the team will soon discover on this episode, which airs tonight at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.
In the exclusive sneak peek clip below, Katherine tells the rest of the team that firing one executive from each department would be a great place to start with their cost-cutting efforts. She appears calm and sure of her decision, but the rest of the team knows just how much of a situation a move like that will create.
She backtracks and tells the team they shouldn’t look upset since everyone outside of the boardroom is watching. However, her new idea of clapping as if she said something great backfires as well so they resort to simply closing the blinds.

Once again, Katherine shows everyone how out of touch she is regarding the employees outside of her immediate circle. She thinks like a top executive and therefore doesn’t put into consideration the morale of the company overall when she makes a decision.
This could end up being a major teaching moment for our favorite, under-qualified CEO. Whether or not she sticks to the plan outlined in the clip above is yet to be seen, but changing it would be a perfect moment of growth for her.
Episode Description: In an effort to reduce costs, Jack, Cyrus, and Elliot have to let go of some employees while Wesley and Dori search for office savings; Sadie helps prep Katherine for her first post-crisis TV interview.
