Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of January 8th! This week is filled with primetime TV returns, an exciting crossover, and some highly anticipated premieres
This week we feature an NCIS crossover, Mayfair Witches, Velma, and many more!

Alert: Missing Persons Unit – Sunday, January 8th
FOX’s latest drama centers on a Missing Persons Unit in the Philadelphia Police Department. The pilot focuses on the team’s investigation into the abduction of a young child. Alert: Missing Persons Unit airs Sunday, January 8th after NFL programming on FOX.
Episode Description: The MPU investigates the abduction of a young child, whose abduction is likely revenge related to her father’s work.
Mayfair Witches – Sunday, January 8th

The much anticipated imagining of Anne Rice’s Life of the Mayfair Witches book series is finally underway on AMC. Alexandra Daddario stars as Rowan Fielding, a neurosurgeon who has realized her ability to kill with her mind is connected to a heritage she didn’t know existed. Mayfair Witches airs Sunday, January 8th at 9/8c on AMC and AMC+.
Episode Description: Neurosurgeon Rowan Fielding has a problem — when she gets mad, she kills with her mind; her search for answers sends her toward her secretive biological family; in New Orleans, Deirdre Mayfair is desperate to escape from her aunt’s oppressive house.

Miss Scarlet and the Duke – Sunday, January 8th
Season 3 is finally here! Eliza is hired to investigate a disappearing magician even though Duke is already working the case. They will have to work together to find the missing man. Miss Scarlet and the Duke airs Sunday, January 8th at 8/7c on PBS.
Episode Description: When a magician vanishes into thin air, Eliza is hired to investigate, despite the fact that Duke is already on the case.
Alert: Missing Persons Unit – Monday, January 9th
For the second night in a row — on its regularly scheduled night — the Philadelphia Missing Persons Unit takes us on a journey to find another missing soul. This time the case involves a woman forcing a man into her car at gunpoint. Alert: Missing Persons Unit airs Monday, January 9th at 9/8c on FOX.
Episode Description: The team investigates when a woman runs down a man and forces him to get in her car at gunpoint; more information about Keith’s kidnapper comes to light.
NCIS Crossover Event – Monday, January 9th

All three NCIS teams come together for one special event where they team up to look into an apparent suicide of their beloved professor. Is there more to the story than meets the eye? The excitement begins with NCIS on Monday, January 9th at 8/7c on CBS.
Event Description: NCIS agents from Washington, D.C., L.A. and Hawai’i, all in D.C. to attend the retirement party of a beloved Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) professor, find themselves investigating his shocking suicide.
The Resident – Tuesday, January 10th

What was supposed to be a two-hour season finale has now been downsized to a one-hour penultimate episode. A heavy storm brings chaos to the ER along with their least favorite person — Governor Mark Betz. The Resident airs Tuesday, January 10th at 8/7c on FOX.
Episode Description: The ER quickly fills up after a heavy storm causes a devastating helicopter crash. Conrad, Devon and the rest of the Chastain doctors rush to treat patients including the helicopter pilot, a barista, and Chastian’s least favorite person, Governor Mark Betz. Then, Conrad is pulled away from celebrating Gigi’s 6th birthday when Sammie comes into Chastian with a 104-degree fever, and Kit must call in a favor for treatment. Meanwhile, a heart arrives for Governor Betz’s transplant surgery.

Golden Globe Awards – Tuesday, January 10th
To kick off Awards Season every year, the entertainment industry gets together to celebrate the best in film and TV for the previous year. This year television nominees include Better Call Saul, The Crown, Yellowstone, Abbott Elementary, and Ozark to name a few. Golden Globe Awards airs Tuesday, January 10th at 8/7c on NBC and Peacock.
Event Description: The 80th Golden Globe Awards will honor the best in film and American television of 2022, as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Willow – Wednesday, January 11th
The finale of the Disney+ favorite brings the group to their final destination: the place where all maps end. Elora and company come face to face with the Shattered Sea for one last quest. Willow airs Wednesday, January 11th on Disney+.

The Conners – Wednesday, January 11th

The Conner clan returns from hiatus with a trip down memory lane for Dan and Jackie when a beloved teacher passes away. This episode guest stars William H. Macy as one of Dan’s high school friends. The Conners airs Wednesday, January 11th at 8/7c on ABC.
Episode Description: The death of a beloved teacher from Dan and Jackie’s high school brings old classmates together. Elsewhere, Becky asks Darlene and Ben for a big favor.
The Circle – Wednesday, January 11th
The final episodes of the Singles season of Netflix’s competition series are near. This season has proven to be exceptionally interesting thanks to the stipulation that all contestants must be single. The Circle airs Wednesday, January 11th on Netflix.
Series Description: In this lighthearted and strategic competition series, the players must choose whether to be themselves or other people, all while chasing a cash prize.
Velma – Thursday, January 12th
Jinkies! Everyone’s favorite intelligent sleuth member of the Mystery Inc. gang is getting her own origin story. Velma is being voiced by Mindy Kaling, and the series introduces new and interesting character-focused stories. Velma airs Thursday, January 12th on HBO Max.

Criminal Minds: Evolution – Thursday, January 12th

The hunt to bring down Sicarius continues with an explosion seeming to reveal the true mastermind. However, the team soon realizes nothing is as it seems. Criminal Minds: Evolution airs Thursday, January 12th on Paramount+.
Episode Description: The explosion looks to have exposed the true mastermind behind Sicarius, but all is not what it seems. Is someone taking the fall for these deadly actions? The BAU is determined to seek the truth.
Hunters – Friday, January 13th

It’s been two years, and the team is finally back together in their quest to take care of Nazis once and for all. Jonah and Millie think they have found Hitler, so they bring the rest of the gang in to kill him. Hunters airs Friday, January 13th on Amazon Prime.
Season Description: Season 2 takes off two years after the finale of the first season. The hunters have now disbanded and spread across different locations. Jonah and Millie discover that Hitler is alive and find out where he is located. They also learn that the Führer is also mobilizing his new army and his new Reich is about to take root. So Jonah brings the crew back together for one last hunt on a massive scale that could change their future and the future of global politics.
Servant – Friday, January 13th

M. Night Shyamalan’s thrilling series about how grief can lead to experiences with supernatural entities returns for its final season. Truths are finally to be revealed about Leanne Grayson, which leads the family to understand better what she has brought into their lives. Servant airs Friday, January 13th on Apple TV+.
Series Description: A Philadelphia couple is in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home.
