Daisy Jones & The Six Comes to Life in Teaser Trailer for Prime Video Series

Daisy Jones & The Six, News

The fictional band becomes a reality in the first teaser trailer for Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & The Six.

This news comes after the streaming service unveiled a first look at the limited musical-drama series in December to announce its premiere date.

Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & The Six premieres on Friday, March 3, with new episodes dropping every Friday until the finale on March 24.

The new footage features “Regret Me,” one of the 24 original songs written and produced exclusively for the series by Grammy Nominated producer Blake Mills. The Atlanta Records music recorded by the cast will be released during the rollout of the series.

Variety reports that the Prime Video series will also release an 11-track record titled Aurora, which comes straight from Reid’s book, on the same day that Daisy Jones & The Six premieres.

“Creating the library of music for Daisy Jones & the Six was an experience I’ll never forget. I am grateful that, among other things, it afforded me an opportunity to collaborate with so many of my peers, and also some of my heroes,” Mills said in a statement.

“We finally have Aurora. A stunning, nostalgic, timeless album that captures the drama, pathos, and yearning of the band’s zenith and nadir all in one. A snapshot of time, intoxicating and dangerous. That delicious moment that you know can’t last… Daisy Jones and the Six are real. And they are better than my wildest dreams,” Reid added. Reid also serves as a producer on the project.

The album includes co-writing credits from Marcus Mumford, Phoebe Bridgers, and Jackson Browne. Frequent Bridgers collaborator Tony Berg provided additional production. According to Variety, Aurora also features instrumentalists from Rilo Kiley, the Who, Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, David Bowie, Elton John, Jeff Beck, and the Wallflowers.

Alongside Keough and Claflin, Daisy Jones & The Six stars Camila Morrone as Camila Dunne, Will Harrison as Graham Dunne, Suki Waterhouse as Karen Sirko, Josh Whitehouse as Eddie Roundtree, Sebastian Chacon as Warren Rojas, Nabiyah Be as Simone Jackson, and Tom Wright as Teddy Price.

The Prime Video series will also see a special guest appearance by Timothy Olyphant as Rod Reyes.

The one-minute trailer packs a literal punch to tease how the fictional band’s music made them famous, but their breakup made them legends.

Per its logline, the show details “the rise and precipitous fall of a renowned rock band. In 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six were on top of the world. Fronted by two charismatic lead singers—Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne —the band had risen from obscurity to fame.”

“And then, after a sold-out show at Chicago’s Soldier Field, they called it quits. Now, decades later, the band members finally agree to reveal the truth. This is the story of how an iconic band imploded at the height of its powers.”

Fans of Reid’s book will immediately notice lines nearly ripped straight from the book’s pages, like Daisy’s “Look, I know that I said that I would tell you everything, but how much of everything do you really want to know?”

From there, Daisy Jones & The Six‘s teaser trailer dives into the whirlwind of the fictional band’s literal hits and misses.
