New Amsterdam Season 5 Episode 8, “All The World’s a Stage,” takes the series more than halfway through its final season. Time is running out to remedy any missteps that have been made so far.
After a one-week hiatus, the show is coming back to possibly attempt to resolve storylines and address some characters’ lack of development so far.

It seems likely that Max is destined to remain an absentee medical director for the time being. Where will his side-quest take him on this episode? Will Max be compelled to spend yet another episode trying to solve the city and the world’s problems on his own?
Speaking of Elizabeth, she has struggled to really hear her patients this season. Perhaps her patient this week will provide her with the opportunity to actually listen and help them where they are at.
Finally, will Lauren finally catch a semblance of a break after being put through the wringer this season? New Amsterdam seems intent on continuing the chaos that this season has been known for.
