Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 4 Review: Spirit in the Sky
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 4, “Spirit in the Sky” proves to be one of the more violent episodes of the show. With two deaths and a stabbing, it really ups the ante.
The Organized Crime Unit finally gets headway on the case of Henry Cole only for all of their leads to die. Things are just getting started and this proves it’s all going to be one big, bloody mess by the end.
While Stabler, if asked, might say he did most of the leg work, the real hero of this story is Reyes. Bell may not realize it yet, but Reyes is more like Elliot Stabler than Whelan is when it comes to dedication.
Reyes in Rikers

When Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3 Episode 2, “Everybody Knows the Dice Are Loaded” introduced Bobby Reyes to the team he boasts a great track record as a UC (undercover cop). Thankfully, we finally get to see him in full fake identity mode.
Last season we got to see Stabler two-time it all season with the Russians. This time we get to see Reyes stick his neck out in order to get Kenny to squeal.
Rick Gonzalez is already flexing his muscles and showing us that he means business as the character of Bobby Reyes. His ability to bring this complex man to life in such a way we want to follow him into the fire is something we don’t really get to see outside of Meloni’s Stabler.
It’s great to have another character we can trust to ride or die with us. If someone on this team is ever going to replace Stabler in our hearts — I know impossible — it will be Reyes.
And maybe this focus on Reyes for the last few episodes has been detrimental to our trust in Whelan. However, in terms of focus, drive, and passion Reyes out strides Whelan every time.
Pearl is Playing With Fire

On the other side of things, we get to see more of the dynamic between Pearl and Teddy. Which, even before this situation Teddy isn’t considered a saint.
However, seeing how he reacts to her making decisions at the construction site gives us pause. Then when she shows him up on the phone to Vince we see him slide a little bit more toward unhinged.
Teddy is a man who needs and desires complete control. It’s why he’s the solid businessman that he is — he makes things happen his way or no way.
Pearl may think she knows what she is doing, but she’s silly if she thinks all this is building toward Teddy making an example of her. I just hope Stabler is able to convince her to flip before her life comes to a screeching halt.
Teddy’s talk with his father about crossing a line he can never take back makes us worry about how far he’s going to go. He’s already ordered the death of Henry Cole — though not proven just yet — who’s to say he won’t do it again.
Stray Thoughts
- Once again Jet proves that this team would be idiots without her
- If you are going to commit crimes don’t post photos on social media with your associates
- I know Kenny got his transfer but something tells me his life is still in danger

Wasn’t Reyes the one that tackled and arrested Kenny in ghe previous episode?
