FBI Season 5 Episode 4 Review: Victim
On FBI Season 5 Episode 4, “Victim,” OA tries to put his trauma behind him unsuccessfully, and Nina cements herself as part of the group.
Zeeko Zaki proves once again that nobody but himself could’ve played OA. He is magnificent.
Promises, Promises

OA is clearly working through his robbery by setting his entire attention on this case, that much is obvious, but when he promises a victim’s mother they’ll find her daughter’s killer, we know he’s gone off the rails.
Obviously, as Maggie isn’t there to help him, OA sits with his own trauma for a while.
Nina notices something is wrong and she keeps an eye on him — in and out of the field. It’s nice to see the team caring for each other and not just letting each other suffer quietly.
There’s something special about OA and Nina’s connection. It’s not romance, but it’s almost the fact that its platonic nature of it that makes it something we’d like Nina to stick around for.
There Is No Victimless Trauma

OA slowly but surely comes to terms with what happened to him, and a young woman is the help he needs to get through it.
The scenes with OA facing the reality of what’s happened to him — speaking with Nina, and arresting the clerk — are the best of the season so far.
Zeeko Zaki comes into every episode knowing exactly who OA is, and how could you want anything else in an actor playing a character you love?
I hope eventually OA is confident enough to know exactly who OA is, and how strong and important he is.
Silent Support

Isobel was meant to be a leader, that much we already know, but each time something personal comes up in the lives of our agents, she’s right there reminding us that she’s on their side, too.
Even if she knows what’s better, even if she knows someone is doing something they shouldn’t, Isobel is there to support them. And that is so special for a team, especially a work team, to have.
Though there are moments when I wish Tiff and Scola had been there more, given that they’ve known OA for years, I accept their quiet support in the background.
Nina’s talk with OA is the best scene of the episode because OA gets to hear things we’re all thinking. That he’s brave, and that he’s a good man. His going to see the man who was shot by his robbers in the hospital proves it.

Stray Thoughts:
- Another week without mentioning Maggie, I’m left wondering if FBI is going to make up for this by giving us some actually happy Maggie for once.
- I’m allowed to speak in headcanon even in a professional review: the forensics woman Scola and Tiff spoke to is a lesbian. Bring her back.
- OA apologizing right away when he realizes someone was hurt shows just how wonderful OA is, and how much thought he really puts into what he says.
- Every time someone jumps on a car I wonder if it would’ve been easier if they just ran around.
