Ben leaps into the ring on Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 3, “Somebody Up There Likes Ben.”
After saving the crew of the Atlantis with a death-defying space walk on Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 2, “Atlantis,” Ben leaps into the body of boxer Danny Hill right before a big fight that will make or break his career.

As Ben prepares for the fight — apparently with some boxing lessons from Addison — they soon discover that this leap isn’t just about helping Danny win in the ring when the police arrive to arrest his manager.
There is another complication on “Somebody Up There Likes Ben” too. Danny apparently has a love interest.
Not only will Ben have to figure out how to navigate the inherent awkwardness of that situation, but there is the added wrinkle of Addison’s relationship with Ben.
Unlike her predecessor, Addison will have to manage her own feelings watching Ben play the part of a romantic partner to someone else and not even remembering that they were engaged. That kind of emotional confusion is bound to be at least a bit of a distraction.
Elsewhere we will learn more of Ben’s backstory as Magic, Ian, and Jenn look for answers about why Ben made his unauthorized leap.
