The DamFam is off to a rough start, and there is no indication that this is changing any time soon. The powers that be are determined to move right along from Helen Sharpe, and set Max up with Elizabeth.

Max is back in the driver’s seat, and hopefully, he’ll be able to do the most good for his patients. However, there is clearly a lot of ground for him to make up for.
“Hook, Line, and Sinker” also appears to be further deviating from its roots, with Max advocating for increased cost-saving measures in the hospital. Though his intentions might be good, this may be a misguided approach to helping his patients.
Floyd is back re-connecting with his father. A fishing trip is a classic bonding experience. New Amsterdam has always struggled with this character, so hopefully, this will be the beginning of a satisfying conclusion for him.
Unfortunately, it looks like fans are in for more Iggy. Online dating can only end badly for him. There is sure to be more terrible medical advice dispensed to his patients in the process.
It seems that Lauren is also getting more of her backstory unlocked. Having her sister with her could be a great way to flush this character out more, and see how she’s really coping.

Justine is an unashamed fan of too many TV shows and movies with a particular love of all things Marvel. She balances her love of massive massively popular shows with hidden gems that are just waiting to be discovered.

Just put this show out of it’s misery. They’re trying to erase Helen which is just highlighting how integral she was to the show. The writers/show runners don’t even know their own main character anymore. No way would the Max who’s been in love with Helen since season 1, who waited 3 years to take off his wedding ring and finally make his move with Helen, who told her he’d been waiting his whole life for her would get over Helen in a few months and start making eyes at Wilder. But they also want us to believe that Helen stood him up at the altar. I guess this is some alternate universe New Amsterdam they’re trying out this season.
