Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Renewed for Season 2 at HBO Max
This secret is not one to keep — Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has been renewed for a second season on HBO Max.
The series that exists within the same universe as ABC Family/Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars will return with more lies from the new generation of Little Liars.
The 10-episode first season premiered on the streaming service in July, with the season finale dropping just last month.

Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max released a statement about the series renewal, sharing, “We are so proud of the incredible response both critically and from fans that Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has received.”
“Viewers have embraced our new generation of Liars and Roberto and Lindsay’s brilliantly dark, horror-fueled take on this iconic franchise. Along with Alloy and Warner Bros. Television, we are thrilled to continue the Pretty Little Liars legacy,” Aubrey continued.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring released a quote expressing their excitement to continue the series.
They shared, “We are beyond excited to continue telling stories with our amazing group of little liars—exploring their friendships, their romances, their secrets, and their status as scream queens supreme!”
“Eternal thanks to the fans who have embraced this new, horror-version of Pretty Little Liars—which we’ll be continuing, of course—as well as our partners at HBO Max, Warner Bros. Television, and Alloy Entertainment. As Tabby would say, ‘There’s a sequel in the offing!'”

Chandler Kinney’s Tabby said that line in the season finale, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 1 Episode 10, “Final Girls,” when the mystery had finally settled — or so the Liars thought.
The coming-of-age series’ first season followed a multi-generational horror story that recounted a tragic story from the Liars’ mothers’ past. Its ripple effects affected their daughters as an unknown Assailant taunted the girls for their mothers’ sins.
Along the way, Imogen and Tabby visited the Pretty Little Liars‘ Rosewood, and Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra (Ian Harding) from the original series adopted Imogen’s baby — though they never appeared on the spinoff.
Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 1 starred Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco, Mallory Bechtel, Sharon Leal, Elena Goode, Eric Johnson, Alex Aiono, and Lea Salonga.
HBO Max shared a post on its social media platforms to celebrate Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin‘s renewal. The post’s tagline of “The Liars have more sins to pAy for” couldn’t be more attuned to the show’s tone.
Malia Pyles, who plays Mouse on the series, reposted the video on her Instagram with the caption “Bet.” Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Maia Reficco, and Zaria shared celebratory posts, too.
Reficco’s post thanks the fans for their enthusiasm, and Zaria’s caption “See u next year?” sets a loose timeline of when the Liars will reappear on HBO Max.
Until then, fans can revisit the Liars’ intense journey throughout the first season, currently streaming on HBO Max.
