One of Us Is Lying Season 2 Trailer Released by Peacock

One of Us Is Lying Season 2 gives Pretty Little Liars‘ “A” competition as “Simon Says” taunts Bronwyn, Nate, Addy, and Cooper via texts.

The trailer for the teen drama’s sophomore season, debuting on Peacock on Thursday, October 20, follows the group as they are blackmailed into playing a twisted game to keep their secret just that.

Per Collider, Season 2 will contain eight one-hour episodes, like its debut season.

The coming-of-age murder mystery is based on Karen M. McManus’s #1 New York Times best-selling novel with the same title. Season 1 follows the story of what happens when five high schoolers enter detention, and only four make it out alive.

After Simon’s untimely death, Bronwyn, Nate, Addy, and Cooper are suspects in his murder. But, by the season finale, Addy’s boyfriend Jake becomes the prime suspect in his former friend’s murder.

After a fight over a gun in the woods, Jake dies and the teens cover it up, then the Murder Club gets a text from the mysterious person, who goes by “Simon Says.”

That initial text read, “Do as I tell you. Or everyone will know what you did.” The question remains of Simon’s identity as, per the logline via TV Line, how far the foursome will go “to protect their secret, themselves and each other.”

Upon One of Us Is Lying‘s renewal, Peacock announced that writer and executive producer Erica Saleh would serve as showrunner. Darío Madrona, who served as Season 1’s showrunner, will remain an executive producer on the series.

Beatrice Springborn, President, UCP, shared excitement about Saleh’s role as showrunner, “From the moment we saw the pilot Erica wrote, we knew this was a special show, and we’re thrilled that Peacock felt the same.”

“Returning to shoot in New Zealand with Erica as showrunner for season two is an exciting next chapter in the wild and fun story of the Bayview Four,” Springborn added.

Saleh shared a statement about the renewal; “We are so happy with the reception of Season One and are beyond thrilled that we get to continue our story in Season Two. We can’t wait to bring more mystery to the halls of Bayview High!” Saleh continued.

One of Us Is Lying‘s cast includes Annalisa Cochrane, Chibuikem Uche, Marianly Tejada, Cooper van Grootel, Barrett Carnahan, Melissa Collazo, and Jessica McLeod.
