The White Lotus Gets Season 2 Premiere Date on HBO

News, The White Lotus

Fans of HBO’s comedy-drama, The White Lotus, have just over a month to wait for the second season of the show.

The network has announced that the new season will premiere on Sunday, October 30, and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

Fresh from an impressive showing at the 74th Emmy® Awards, the Mike White-created series promises to draw fans back with mysteries new and old, including a major cliffhanger that left many unanswered questions.

The first season of The White Lotus introduced guests and employees of a seemingly idealistic resort in Hawaii. It doesn’t take long before the “quirks” of these characters start to break down the sense of bliss.

HBO’s logline for Season 2 reads, “The social satire is set at an exclusive Sicilian resort and follows the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week.”

The cast includes F. Murray Abraham, Jennifer Coolidge, Adam DiMarco, Meghann Fahy, Jon Gries, Tom Hollander, Sabrina Impacciatore, Michael Imperioli, Theo James, Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson, Will Sharpe, Simona Tabasco, and Leo Woodall.

As previously reported, the HBO show’s premiere date would be in October, and Coolidge would return for the sophomore season. Per HBO, Coolidge portrays Tanya McQuoid-Hunt, who is “a wealthy, unstable woman, traveling with her husband, Greg, and assistant, Portia.”

Jon Greis plays Greg who views this trip as a romantic getaway with his wife and is less than pleased that her assistant tagged along. Haley Lu Richardson portrays the “small-town girl and recent college graduate” assistant in question.

F. Murray Abraham joins as Bert Di Grasso, who “is getting frail,” but he “still sees himself as virile and capable. Bert visits Sicily with his son, Dominic, and grandson, Albie.

Michael Imperioli plays Dominic, a Hollywood producer visiting Sicily with his family “to explore their ancestral roots.” Adam DiMarco is Albie, “a sweet and observant college grad who often serves as his family’s peacekeeper.”

Meghann Fahy stars as the stay-at-home mom visiting Italy with her husband, Cameron, played by Theo James. Cameron is described as a “wildly successful businessman from a wealthy family.” The couple is joined on the trip by Cameron’s college roommate Ethan and his wife Harper.

Will Sharpe and Aubrey Plaza play Ethan and Harper Spiller. Will recently found professional success, and Harper is newly wealthy because of it.

Other new cast members include Beatrice Grannò as Mia, Tom Hollander as Quentin, Sabrina Impacciatore as Valentina, Simona Tabasco as Lucia, and Leo Woodall as Jack.

It’s unclear how a new setting, plot, and cast will affect which lingering questions will be answered and when– and which new ones will be created. Still, the new cast of characters promises plenty of drama.

The White Lotus Season 2 is created, written, and directed by Mike White and executive produced by White, David Bernad, and Mark Kamine.

The White Lotus Season 2 premieres Sunday, October 30 at 9/8c on HBO.
