Preview — Queer as Folk: Peacock’s Reboot of a Beloved Classic
Queer as Folk is back!
It’s been twenty-two years since the original UK version of Queer as Folk ended and seventeen years since the US version that went on to have five seasons ended. Since then, a lot has happened in society politically and in terms of rights, but have things really changed?
Peacock’s Queer as Folk reboot, helmed by Stephen Dunn, is a new look at an age-old tale while also giving it a refreshing twist.
The series will follow a group of friends who reside in New Orleans, fighting to take back their lives after an unfortunate tragedy strikes the Babylon, an event inspired by the tragedy that struck PULSE in Orlando in 2016.
Following its predecessor’s footsteps, the reboot of Queer as Folk will tackle relevant topics and the hardships that the LGBTQ+ community goes through.
The series’ star-studded cast includes Fin Argus as Mingus, CG as Shar, Jesse James Keitel as Ruthie, Ryan O’Connell as Julian, Johnny Sibilly as Noah, Devin Way as Brodie, Kim Cattrall as Brenda, Eric Graise as Marvin, Armand Fields as Bussey Horewood, Juliette Lewis as Judy, and Chris Renfro as Daddius Miller.
