Preview — Night Sky: Amazon’s Newest Outer Worlds Exploring Sci-Fi
Amazon’s newest series, Night Sky, tells the story of Irene York (Sissy Spacek) and Franklin York (J.K. Simmons), a retired couple that share a longtime secret: a door to another world.
In the shed of their backyard, Irene and Franklin have a chamber hidden below its flooring. The mysterious chamber leads to an out-of-this-world room that allows them to transport to a deserted planet.
However, after years of keeping their secret, everything changes with the arrival of a young man named Jude (Chai Hansen). With his knowledge of the chamber and planet, the Yorks realize there’s much more to their secret than they thought.
Night Sky is a series that revolves around outer world exploration, the hardships of destiny, and the lingering question of where Jude comes from and what he could be, but it’s more than that.
At the heart of the show, Night Sky tells a deeper story of loss and the ramifications it forever holds on a family while still keeping the main plot at the forefront.
