‘Single Drunk Female’ Renewed for Season 2 at Freeform
Sam Fink and her friends’ stories aren’t over yet! Freeform renewed Single Drunk Female, starring Sofia Black-D’Elia and Ally Sheedy, for a second season.
Single Drunk Female Season 1 Episode 10, “A Wedding,” ended with a few bombshells. With this renewal, the breakout comedy can deal with the fallout in Season 2.
The upcoming second season will likely follow James as he starts his sobriety journey over after relapsing. His romantic relationship with Sam ended soon after she learned the truth regarding his sobriety.

But, as one relationship ended, another seemed to be on the mend. Brit and Sam’s friendship was strained to multiple breaking points, and “A Wedding” didn’t ease up in that regard.
Brit revealed her serious doubts about marrying Joel, which didn’t land well considering Brit also told Sam the truth about an aspect of her relationship with Joel.
In an unforgettable moment, Brit told her former best friend that she hooked up with Joel shortly after Sam’s father passed away. That bombshell is a gut punch within itself, and it stung all the more, considering how that twist circles back to Sam’s anxiety.
So much of Sam’s journey throughout the first season of Single Drunk Female is recognizing that she has unresolved feelings since she’s still processing the grief of her father.

It’s a bitter twist for Single Drunk Female to compound the end of one of her most significant friendships and romantic relationships with her father’s death.
By the end of “A Wedding,” Brit and Sam shared some common ground that suggested their friendship may not be permanently over. Thankfully, Single Drunk Female will be able to continue this story and plenty more in its recently-renewed second season.
Freeform President Tara Duncan was pleased to share the news with Single Drunk Female fans.
“I am thrilled to bring Single Drunk Female back for a second season. Jenni Konner, Simone Finch, and Daisy Gardner created a series that struck a strong chord in such a sincere and authentic way. I cannot wait to see what they have in store for Sam as she continues on her journey to becoming her best self in season two,” Duncan said.

Single Drunk Female “follows 20-something alcoholic Samantha Fink, who, after a public flame-out at a New York media company, is forced to seize the only chance she has to sober up and avoid jail time: moving back home with her overbearing mother, Carol.”
As aptly described in the show’s description, “Samantha sets out on a path to move past her worst self and figure out her best self. Kinda.”
The series stars Black-D’Elia, Sheedy, Rebecca Henderson, Sasha Compère, Lily Mae Harrington, and Garrick Bernard.
The comedy comes from 20th Television and is created by Simone Finch (The Conners), who executive produces along with Jenni Konner (Girls, Camping), Daisy Gardner (Silicon Valley, The Goldbergs), Phil Traill (Good Girls), Nora Silver and Leslye Headland (Russian Doll).
