‘To All the Boys’ Spinoff ‘XO, Kitty’ Cast Revealed by Netflix

News

It’s Kitty Song Covey’s time to shine on the To All the Boys spinoff series XO, Kitty!

Netflix is finally sharing who will accompany Kitty — played by Anna Cathcart — on her new journey.

The good news doesn’t stop there! The streaming service paired the casting news with the announcement that XO, Kitty is now in production.

According to TV Line, Gia Kim will play Yuri, while Sang Heon Lee will play Min Ho, respectively, on XO, Kitty. They are series regulars alongside Love, Victor‘s Anthony Keyvan as Q.

Also, as series regulars, Peter Thurnwald will play Alex and musician Regan Aliyah will appear as Juliana. Recurring roles go to Yunjin Kim as Jina, Michael K Lee as Professor Lee, and Jocelyn Shelfo as Madison.

XO, Kitty is a 10-episode series that reintroduces To All the Boys fans to Lara Jean’s younger sister Kitty (or Katherine) as she moves halfway across the world to reconnect with her long-distance boyfriend, Dae — played by Choi Min-yeong.

Kitty used to (lovingly) push Lara Jean’s buttons about the highs and lows of romance. After all, we wouldn’t have the To All the Boys trilogy if Kitty didn’t mail Lara Jean’s love letters.

The film trilogy followed Lara Jean’s epic love stories, and it even peeked in on Kitty and Lara Jean’s older sister Margot’s love life. As the franchise progressed, the sisters even helped their father find love again with their neighbor Trina.

So, it’s only fitting that Netflix follows Kitty’s journey in the love department. That journey may not be as smooth sailing as she’d like.

According to XO, Kitty‘s official logline, Kitty will begin to learn relationships are “a lot more complicated when it’s your own heart on the line.”

We are still awaiting more details about the new characters and the plot, but this news is more than enough to hold us over until then.

It’s still early, and Kitty’s journey should stand independently. Nevertheless, we can’t help but hold out a little hope for some kind of family reunion on XO, Kitty — even if it’s just Kitty calling her sisters (or her dad) for advice.

According to Deadline, XO, Kitty started production in Seoul, South Korea. Jennifer Arnold, Jeff Chan, Pamela Romanowsky, and Katina Medina Mora are set to direct this season. The show was created by To All the Boys author Jenny Han, who also executive produced the trilogy’s film adaptations.
