Never Have I Ever Renewed for Fourth and Final Season at Netflix
All good things must come to an end! Netflix renewed its coming-of-age series Never Have I Ever for its fourth and final season. It also announced a time slate for its Season 3 premiere.
Deadline exclusively reported that “Season 3, which just wrapped production, will launch this summer,” and Season 4’s production, which will land on Netflix in 2023, “is expected to kick off in the coming months.”
Never Have I Ever is a series by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, starring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi, a teenage Indian-American Tamil girl from L.A.
Devi’s coming-of-age story includes an epic love triangle with Paxton Hall-Yoshida and Ben Gross. Devi reunites with Paxton in the Season 2 finale after telling him she wouldn’t be with him unless he wanted their relationship to be public.

However, there is still hope for fans of Devi and Ben’s relationship because, in that same finale, Ben learns that Devi did have feelings for him earlier in the season.
The extensive Daxton and Bevi discourse is one example of Never Have I Ever‘s success on the streaming service. According to Deadline, “The first season performed well on the service, with 40M households tuning in during its first four weeks.”
Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher even cite the fandom’s enthusiasm in their statement about the show’s upcoming third and fourth seasons.

The great thing about Never Have I Ever is that it knows how to create authentic and wonderful romances, but it’s also about family, friendship, and how they all collide. In her comments about the series’ renewal, Netflix’s Head of Global TV, Bela Bajaria, spoke to all of that.
“It’s everything we want in a Netflix comedy series: authentic, specific, funny, and full of heart. I love that a story I relate to so deeply – about a young, Indian-American girl – hits on so many universal truths that resonate with just about everyone,” Bajaria said.
Erin Underhill, President of Universal Television, echoed plenty of fans’ thoughts by saying, “Four seasons of Never Have I Ever is truly exciting and a little bittersweet because, as a loyal fan, I’d love Devi’s journey to go on forever. But just like high school, all great things must come to an end.”
Never Have I Ever‘s star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan wrote about similar feelings of appreciation and love in a letter to the show’s fans.

So, it is bittersweet to eventually say goodbye to Devi, her friends, and her family. But, it is comforting to know there are still 20 new episodes of Never Have I Ever for us to enjoy. Underhill captured that feeling perfectly in the rest of her statement.
“A big shout out to our fearless Cricket Queens, Mindy and Lang, and our exceptional cast and crew, who have authentically captured the emotional rollercoaster ride that defines our teenage years. We can’t wait to experience all of the messiness, the LOLs, and the tears that will surely unfold in Devi’s senior year,” Underhill said.
The best thing about streaming is that when Never Have I Ever ends, we can watch it over and over again. We still have plenty of opportunities to laugh and cry with Devi until then. Plus, we have to know how that epic love triangle concludes.
