First Look At Netflix’s New Teen Romance ‘Heartstopper’
Alice Oseman’s beloved webcomic series is finally coming to the small screen.
Heartstopper first garnered adoration from fans when it was in webcomic form in April 2016, and it has since expanded into four physical volumes over the past six years. Now, Netflix is adapting the infamous friends-to-lovers tale into an eight-part series that will debut on April 22.
The series tells a love story of two unlikely classmates who bond over an unlikely friendship after meeting in class. Charlie (Joe Locke) — an introspective overthinker — starts to develop deeper feelings for school athlete Nick (Kit Connor) but fears they might be unrequited.
Nick, however, may have more complicated feelings than Charlie assumes. As the teaser shows, showing up at someone’s doorstep in the middle of a rainstorm doesn’t exactly scream “platonic.”
Hearts will warm as audiences watch Charlie and Nick navigate the epic highs and lows of first love with their friends and family helping guide the way. From bedroom dancing to awkward flirting, Heartstopper is the feel-good story of teenage romance you’ve been craving.
Check out the photos and promo video below for a first look at this adorable, all-too-relatable series about love, self-discovery, and acceptance.
Season description: Boy meets boy. Boys become friends. Boys fall in love. Charlie, Nick, and their circle of friends must navigate the ever-relatable journey of self-discovery and acceptance, supporting each other as they learn to find their most authentic selves.
