CSI: Vegas Review: Signed, Sealed, Delivered (Season 1 Episode 10)

CSI: Vegas, Reviews

On CSI: Vegas Season 1 Episode 10 “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” the final episode of the season, David Hodges fights for his life, and Max takes back what’s rightfully hers.

Ex Marks the Spot

Allie makes it known that she’s got some regrets about moving in with her boyfriend, and it’s unfortunate, but we all totally saw it coming.

We never get a full conclusion, though. It’s a good sort-of cliffhanger if they’re renewed for season two; finding out where Allie and Josh are at in relationships, respectfully.

Allie finally has the chance to see how Josh feels about Allie’s boyfriend, which, thank goodness, but it’s also clearly upsetting for Josh.

Josh shows Allie his hand when he burns her key and, honestly, good for him.

Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Wixon

Letting Hodge’s location in a conversation with Grissom of all people feels too easy.

Maybe he’s just cocky enough that he doesn’t think Grissom will catch on, but that’s a pretty risky bet to take when Hodges is still alive.

With over 150,000 hotel rooms in Las Vegas, that’s a very wide search, but still.

Then, because they seriously needed a miracle, the CSI’s found a material that left a scent remnant from a hotel? I’m gonna be honest with you guys, I don’t understand most of the science, and at this point, I’m too afraid to ask.

CSI: Vegas has spent ten episodes carefully crafting the case for Anson Wix, and to have him basically blow it in one conversation with Grissom seems… wrong.

He’s a jerk, he’s a loser, but he’s quite smart. It feels like something one of his henchmen would do, not Wix himself, but… alright.

Then, because of course, CSI: Vegas gives us a happy ending. Hodges is saved, looking over his newborn baby. Wix is given papers that state his charges.

Roller Coaster of Love

In a very, very rare moment, Grissom and Sara board what is Grissom’s favorite roller coaster in the city. The hotel has been shut down due to COVID-19, but since Grissom’s friend was held hostage there, I guess they owe him a favor.

As they ascend, they hold hands and kiss, and that really puts a cherry on top of a great season.

My very favorite part of this selection of scenes is that COVID is once again mentioned in passing, and, yeah. That’s it.

The show doesn’t take place in the pandemic, because why the heck would it? On a show about criminalists, who are wearing gloves and masks most of the time anyway, why add more? And they’re right for it!

In what was a well-set-up season, we got a satisfying ending, even if a bit of that was an old serial killer returning for more.

Stray Thoughts:
  • Chris Park is the best man alive.
  • The way that Max utters the line, “David Hodges may very well be dead” is absolutely hilarious.
  • The makeshift soundproof in the hotel room Hodges was kept in is so funny especially when you find out that the hotel hasn’t been in use in almost two years.
