ABC Announces Midseason Schedule, Including ‘black-ish,’ ‘Abbot Elementary’ Premiere Dates
  • ABC has set its winter schedule, which includes premiere dates for some of its new series and a few of its most popular.
  • Things kickoff with a special preview of new comedy Abbott Elementary on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 9:30/8:30c. Starring, executive produced, and created by Quinta Brunson, the show follows “a group of dedicated, passionate teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal —as they navigate the Philadelphia public school system.”
  • black-ish Season 8 begins its final run Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 9:30/8:30c, with Abbott Elementary moving to is regular 9/8c time slot.
  • Miniseries Women of the Movement, which follows Mamie Till-Mobley (Adrienne Warren), as she “risks her life to find justice after her son Emmett is brutally murdered in the Jim Crow South,” debuts the first two of six hours Thursday, Jan. 6 at 8/7c.
  • After a season of controversy, The Bachelor returns with new host Jesse Palmer on Monday, Jan. 3 at 8/7c. It is joined by new drama Promised Land, which features “two Latinx families vying for wealth and power in California’s Sonoma Valley,” on Jan. 24 at 10/9c.
  • Game show The Chase is also set to resume Season 2 Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 10/9c.

TBS Renews ‘Miracle Workers’ for Season 4, TNT Sets ‘Snowpiercer’ Season 3 Premiere Date
  • WarnerMedia announced the 2022 schedule for TNT, TBS, and truTV. Among the big reveals are a Season 4 renewal for Miracle Workers and the Snowpiercer Season 3 premiere date, per Deadline.
  • Miracle Workers is a TBS anthology comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Jon Bass, and Karan Soni. The first three seasons focused on Heaven, Dark Ages, and Oregon Trail, there’s no word yet on what story Season 4 will follow.
  • TNT drama Snowpiercer Season 3 will premiere Monday, Jan. 24. Season 2 ended with Snowpiercer getting free from Big Alice, and heading back for Melanie, only to find she didn’t make it. Snowpiercer has already been renewed for Season 4.
  • truTV firefighter comedy TacomaFD has been picked up for Season 4, while TBS has ordered the Damon Wayans Jr. comedy Kill the Orange-Faced Bear for a 10 episode Season 1.
  • TBS also announced Full Frontal with Samantha Bee Season 7 will premiere Wednesday, Jan. 20 and, American Dad! Season 17 premieres Monday, Jan. 24.

The CW Midseason Schedule Pairs ‘Superman & Lois’ With ‘Naomi,’ Moves ‘The Flash,’ ‘Riverdale’
  • The CW has released its midseason schedule, and as usual it includes long hiatuses and changing time slots.
  • TVLine reports, Dynasty Season 5 premieres with two new episode Monday, Dec. 20 at 8/7c.
  • The new year begins with Superman & Lois Season 2 debuting Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 8/7c. The Man of Steel is followed by the premiere of new superhero series Naomi at 9/8c.
  • Class is in session for All American: Homecoming Season 1 on Monday, Feb. 21 at 9/8c, right after the return of All American at 8/7c.
  • Following its five episode “Rivervale” arc, which features Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina, Riverdale returns with a move to Sundays on March 6 at 8/7c.
  • Once The Flash wraps up its five episode “Armageddon” crossover, it moves to Wednesdays on March 9 at 8/7c. It is joined by Kung Fu Season 2 premiering at 9/8c.
  • Charmed Season 4 begins on Friday, March 11 at 8/7c, where it is once again teamed with Dynasty.
  • Several shows are also set for midseason returns including Nancy Drew on Friday, Jan. 7 at 9/8c, Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 4400 on Monday, Jan. 17 at 8/7c, and Walker and Legacies on Thursday, Jan. 27.

Season 3 to be Last for ‘Hanna’
  • Amazon is sending Hanna on her last mission, as the drama is set to end with its upcoming Season 3, per Deadline.
  • Hanna Season 3 follows the young assassin (Esmé Creed-Miles) as she works with Marissa Wiegler (Mireille Enos) and John Carmichael (Dermot Mulroney) to bring down Utrax from the inside.
  • Ray Liotta joins the cast as Gordon Evans, “a respected former military man and intelligence operative who wields incredible insider power.”
  • Hanna is streaming on Amazon Prime Video, with Season 3 premiering Wednesday, Nov. 24.

‘Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas’ Announces Premiere Date
  • The Roku Channel is set to bring back Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist just in time for the holidays. TVLine reports, Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas will premiere Wednesday, Dec. 1.
  • The movie wraps up the series and features returning cast members Jane Levy (Zoey), Mary Steenburgen (Maggie), Skylar Astin (Max), John Clarence Stewart (Simon), Alex Newell (Mo), Andrew Leeds (David), Alice Lee (Emily), Michael Thomas Grant (Leif), Kapil Talwalkar (Tobin), David St. Louis (Perry), Peter Gallagher (Mitch), and Bernadette Peters (Deb).
  • Per the official logline: “On her first holiday without her father, Zoey attempts to create a magical Christmas for her family just like the ones Mitch used to do.”
  • The movie also released a preview of Newell’s Mo singing “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” as Zoey tries to avoid the holiday spirit.
  • It’s worth noting that a Roku device is not necessary to watch The Roku Channel.
  • Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas premieres Wednesday, Dec. 1 on The Roku Channel, with Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist also available on the network.

‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Season 15 Set for December Premiere
  • After a two year wait, long-running comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 15 will premiere Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 10/9c on FXX.
  • With its eight episode Season 15, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia becomes the longest running live-action comedy in TV history, passing The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet.
  • Per the official synopsis: “In the seismic wake of Covid-19 and all things 2020, The Gang stands at a crossroads in this strange new world. The rules are changing quicker than anyone can keep up with, despite herculean efforts from Mac (Rob McElhenney), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank (Danny DeVito) to continue business as usual. Now, they must face the music and decide who they’ll become in the cultural upheaval that is 2021.”
  • The first two episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 15 premieres Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 10/9c on FXX. In the meantime, Seasons 1-14 are streaming on Hulu.
