I’m not sure where the writers are going with this storyline beginning with episode 1 this year but so far the joy that was promised hasn’t been realized with Max/Helen . Since they have come together as a couple and admit their in love. They are having more of a struggle to stay a couple because of unimaginable twist the writers somehow thought was clever but was actually depressing. New Amsterdam is the reason for the show and having Max run NA with Helen by his side is the core and magic of this show. Why would anyone want to change that dynamic. There is no NA without Max/Helen it’s just another hospital. To send them away from NA defeats the purpose of their new found relationship the fans were supposed to enjoy them as a couple while they navigated the halls of NA in their pursuit of rebuilding a system. While telling and appreciating the stories of their fellow co-stars. How are you not going to create bigger problems for them taking his child away to another country him giving up his passion and life’s work to rebuild Healthcare. It would have made more sense for Helen an accomplished Dr in her own right find a med director for her old clinic raising money as Dr Helen to get them back on their feet . Bring her mom to the states and let Mina live her life. It seems just when she gets everything she wants Max, a mom to Luna a perfect career, she runs away. That’s messed up she always found reason to stay before she had a relationship with Max but the moment she does she can’t find a reason to stay. I think the writers did not think this through logically after all home is where the heart is and that should have been with Max and Luna not some small clinic in London it could use her help not her life

Audrey I second that, exactly my thoughts too. Please NA writers you portrayed Helen as a good person that cares deeply for max, sacrificefor him, and she knows he has big plans for NA, why do you have to switch Helen’s character to a selfish one who now cares only for herself and ignores Max’s work and Luna. I hope we get to see the joy you promised us and if not I guess you meant the opposite then.
