What to Watch on TV: Heels, Coroner, Nine Perfect Strangers
Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of August 15th! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from marathons to big guest spots, and significant episodes of TV to look forward to while stuck inside.
This week’s picks include the return of Bachelor in Paradise, the debuts of Nine Perfect Strangers and Heels, and more.

Heels – Sunday, August 15

A pair of brothers grapple with the aftermath of their father’s death and the wrestling business that he left behind in this new wrestling drama. The series centers on the Spade family and the strife that comes with the business. Heels premieres Sunday, August 15 at 9/8c on Starz.

Bachelor in Paradise – Monday, August 16
Now that the final rose has been given, the midsummer messiness is ready to commence as a new batch of Bachelor and Bachelorette alums head to paradise in search of love. But will they find it this time around? Bachelor in Paradise returns Monday, August 16 at 8/7c on ABC.
Episode Description: It’s time to return to Bachelor Nation’s favorite beach as a new batch of sexy singles make their way to paradise in hopes for a second – or third – chance at love. With the resort officially open, former fan-favorite bachelors and bachelorettes are ready to find their match while living together in a tropical oasis in Mexico. Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens – Wednesday, August 18
Nora is back and ready to take viewers to hilarious and trippy places with back-to-back episodes. Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens returns Wednesday, August 18 at 10/9c on Comedy Central
Episode Description: After a starry-eyed look at her future, Nora trains a new CBD store employee; Grandma’s newly diagnosed perfect bill of health leads to a face-off; Daniel catches Nora by surprise; After getting an MRI during an earthquake, Nora time travels to the iPod-filled world of 2003, where she sets out to warn her younger self about the mistakes she’s going to make.
In The Same Breath – Wednesday, August 18

The latest documentary acquired by HBO tells the tale of two pandemics in China and the United States in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic as each country approaches strategy differently. But there are some marked similarities in approaches that cost each country dearly. In The Same Breath debuts Wednesday, August 18 at 9/8c on HBO.
Documentary Description: The documentary film, which premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, explores the early confusion and parallel campaigns by authorities to try to contain the virus as well as shape the public narrative through misinformation, resulting in a devastating impact on citizens of both countries.
Nine Perfect Strangers – Wednesday, August 18

The latest addition to the Moriarty-verse is this limited series that follows 9 people working through different struggles find themselves at a 10-day wellness retreat. But what they soon find out is that they’re not all just coincidentally there. Nine Perfect Strangers premieres Wednesday, August 18 on Hulu.
Series Description: Based on The New York Times bestselling book by author Liane Moriarty, “Nine Perfect Strangers” takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort’s director, Masha, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect” strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.
Coroner – Thursday, August 19

The Canadian import is making its stateside Season 3 premiere this week and will be taking a page from other medical dramas and addressing the viral elephant in the room. Coroner returns Thursday, August 19 at 8/7c on the CW.
Episode Description: In the wake of COVID-19, Jenny (Serinda Swan) investigates the mysterious death of a care worker whose body is found in her own car.
Annette – Friday, August 20

With a cast that includes Marion Cotillard, Adam Driver, and Simon Helberg, this musical tells the story of a comedian and an opera singer who fall madly in love and find their lives changed as they grow closer and have a child together. Annette premieres Friday, August 20 on Prime Video.

The Chair – Friday, August 20

Sandra Oh is back in our lives with a new series that follows a professor as she takes on the position of Chair of the English department. While she’s navigating her new duties, she’s also dealing with the fact that she’s the first woman to take on the role. The Chair drops Friday, August 20 on Netflix.
Series Description: The Chair follows Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim (Sandra Oh) as she navigates her new role as the Chair of the English department at prestigious Pembroke University. Ji-Yoon is faced with a unique set of challenges as the first woman to chair the department, and as one of the few staff members of color at the university.
