Dynasty Review: She Lives in a Showplace Penthouse (Season 4 Episode 15)
Sam and Culhane figure out a solution for Leo, and the beginning of a bond between Cristal and Dominique forms on Dynasty Season 4 Episode 15, “She Lives in a Showplace Penthouse.”
Sam and Culhane’s storyline for the past five episodes or so has been mediocre at best, but it looks as if the sun is on the horizon. Leo’s death brings about a new day for the two men as they no longer have to worry about employing a mobster or worry about being murdered.
Leo’s death may bring about a certain sense of serenity within Sam and Culhane, but they’re not out of the woods just yet. Leo’s death looks like accidental electrocution; however, if it’s investigated any further, the truth would be easy to figure out.

Dynasty showing another side to Blake Carrington and actively working on himself and his actions is the best decision made in the past two seasons. It’s refreshing to watch this character who has been insensitive, cold, rigged, and, more often than not, evil throughout the series finally see a change of heart.
Anders’ death is a tragic blow for most of the main cast, but ultimately he was Blake’s best friend. Blake’s ability to make his moves, whether business, personal, or family, all went through Anders. He was the glue to everything in Blake’s life, so it makes sense and brings authenticity to witness Blake endure his grief and have to deal with it.
Dominique and Cristal’s interaction with one another is also a refresher from the typical drama that ensues in the Carrington family. As the show matures, it’s nice to see the dynamics evolve between characters who used not to be able to stand one another.
The need for drama is a must, but on a show where there are so many female-led storylines, it flows better when there’s a sense of unity.

As a designer, Dominique may be looking for a foot in the door, but there’s a genuine connection between the two when issues are pushed aside. There’s no denying that she cares for Cristal’s well-being, even if she likes to come off stone-cold sometimes.
At this point, I probably sound like a broken record, and for that, I’m sorry, but Steven’s character deserves better. Alexis’s dilemma of wanting to be near her two children would be oh so touching if only she would miraculously remember that she has another son.
Steven’s erasure and avoidance altogether is one of the worst screwups storyline-wise that Dynasty has pulled off. There would be less outrage if his character were given the satisfaction of being killed off instead of locked away in a mental facility to be forgotten about.

I’d be content with Alexis or Fallon receiving a phone call about his passing at the facility. At least at that point, there’s some closure for the character instead of pretending he never existed.
The children drama storyline for Alexis is only beginning, and while part of me hates it, another part of me is oozing with excitement. The brilliant Eliza Bennett will be making her debut on Season 4 Episode 16, “The British Are Coming,” and will be a series regular on Season 5.
Amanda’s arrival only excites me because of the beauty that is Eliza Bennett. I fell in love with her on Sweet/Vicious many years ago and am ecstatic to see what she’ll bring to the role of Amanda Carrington. There’s no denying that the character casting was spot on; Eliza fits the role perfectly and will make a perfect addition to the cast.
