Legacies Review: A New Hope (Season 3 Episode 15)
Hope, Lizzie, and Josie are stuck in a psychedelic hallucination together on Legacies Season 3 Episode 15, “A New Hope.”
For a penultimate episode, “A New Hope” falls short. There’s plenty of action to go around with the campy knock-off Star Wars hallucination Hope, Josie, and Lizzie are in; however, does that mean anything when it doesn’t help further the storyline?
It could be because I’ve never gotten into Star Wars like that, but other than the campiness, I don’t see another reason for the situation they’re in to be relevant.

The only good thing to come from the three of them hallucinating together is they get a chance to work through childhood traumas, but that’s it. Hope’s “realization” that she has to activate her tribrid side to defeat Malivore is not new information. It’s been known for quite a while now that Hope has to activate her vampire side to get what she desires, so why the repetitiveness?
At this point, the only thing I’m looking forward to seeing in the finale is Hope activating her vampire side, so we never have to hear her talk about it again. If we get through the season finale without Hope activating it, I never want it to be spoken about again because it’s not an exciting topic anymore.
The Merge used to be talked about non-stop when it came to Josie and Lizzie, but we’ve moved past that being mentioned every 5 minutes, thankfully. Now, I’d like the same courtesy to extend to mentioning Hope’s tribrid side.

Their situation isn’t all bad; at least it forces the three characters to sit and talk about old grudges they’ve never brought up. Sadly, it’s taken this long for them to get it out in the open; however, facing their issues with one another will bring them closer.
Hope and Lizzie’s relationship needed the sit-down to happen so they can both further progress on their individual journeys. I can’t wait to see the day where Lizzie doesn’t have some sort of animosity towards Hope for things out of her control when she was a child, and hopefully, it’s coming soon.
I love that the three of them are finally talking about the past and how things went down because nobody was ever given the truth about Hope’s situation. Hope had her entire family sacrificed so she could live on with a happy life, so the closest thing she had to a parent is Alaric.

As kids, Lizzie and Josie couldn’t grasp what was going on in full, and Hope never made it known because she didn’t feel like she had to. Now that Lizzie and Josie are aware of just how hard Hope has had it, I hope the petty drama from childhood shenanigans can be over with between all three of them.
One of my main hopes for the finale next week is Malivore’s defeat because I’m not sure how much longer I can keep interested in the same storyline. It’s gone on for far too long, and I need the conclusion to that storyline to come next week so Season 4 can be fresh. The random monster week to week was fun initially, but it’s frustrating at this point
