Superstore Series Finale Review: Perfect Store / All Sales Final (Season 6 Episodes 14 and 15)
After much set up, the day has finally come. Superstore has closed for good.
On Superstore Season 6 Episode 14, “Perfect Store,” Amy returns in a last ditch effort to save Cloud 9’s Ozark Highlands location.
Then, on Superstore Season 6 Episode 15, “All Sales Final,” shows the last day at our favorite Cloud 9 store, which brings many of the series long arcs full circle.

In terms of sticking the landing, few series finales will ever do better than Superstore does here. “Perfect Store” and “All Sales Final” wrap each character’s arc in a way that makes sense and close the automatic sliding door on any notion on continuing the show as-is.
“Perfect Store” is a hilarious, last ditch effort to save the store — where they have to make the store seem perfect despite a set of obstacles. Not the least of which is finding a duffel bag full of severed feet.
On its own, “Perfect Store” is hilarious. All of the jokes land, and Amy’s return to Store 1217 is an emotional one. There’s also a group discussion about Amy and Jonah’s relationship status, and that’s where the 2-part finale really finds its sweet spot.

Though their efforts to save the store are valiant, they are ultimately unsuccessful.
“All Sales Final” is truly where the show sticks the landing. Amy returns to the store as it begins to close down, and ends up putting on a vest and helping out. But that’s not why it’s great.
“All Sales Final” accomplishes that rare feat of wrapping nearly every arc in a satisfactory way. The road to getting there was rocky and imperfect, but Superstore truly delivers a satisfying finale.

For instance, Mateo’s immigration status would make it difficult for him to find a new job. That intertwines with Glenn’s inability to retire, so Glenn revives his father’s hardware store, and hires Mateo and Cheyenne to work there.
Dina, becoming manager of the new Cloud 9 distribution center, decides to keep “hanging and banging” with Garrett, implying they end up together. She also chooses Marcus, Justine, and Sandra to continue working with her, and her relationship with Glenn is repaired.
Obviously, though, “All Sales Final” truly exists to bring Amy and Jonah back together.

The second half of Superstore‘s final hour is littered with callbacks to the pilot. For example, Jonah helps Amy operate a scan gun, an inverse of their meeting in the pilot. Then of course, there are the references to finding the “magic” and the stars on the ceiling of their child’s (!!) bedroom.
Amy: Jonah, why did you stay here?
Jonah: Why do you think, Amy?
Amy and Jonah’s ending is comparable to that of Sam and Diane from Cheers. Except Sam and Diane didn’t end up together.

Amy’s return and true regret about losing Jonah is what makes the whole finale story work. Sure, she comes back to try and save the store, but she really comes back because she misses Jonah and regrets her decision to leave him. Before America Ferrera left the show, their dynamic felt off — but on “All Sales Final” it truly feels right.
That feeling also describes the Superstore finale as a whole — it just feels right.

A few stray thoughts:
- Garrett’s closing monologue as a store announcement, over the montage of the future, is a truly special and memorable ending scene.
- It’s great to see the brief appearances by Bo, Jerusha, and Jerry before the series ends.
- “I think I made a mistake not marrying Jonah.” “YA THINK!?!” – Sandra is truly all of us.
- Finally, the best interlude (maybe of the series): finding out that Elias is the severed foot guy. INCREDIBLE twist.
- It’s been a pleasure covering Superstore throughout its run.
