Preview — Fargo Season 4 Episode 4: The Pretend War
Fargo Season 4 Episode 4, “The Pretend War,” looks to be another busy episode following the eventful Fargo Season 4 Episode 3, “Raddoppiarlo’s”.
On “Raddoppiarlo,” newer, and more unpredictable, characters made some moves that upset the delicate status quo between that Cannons and Faddas. Now the fallout from those events is about to take shape.
Most significantly, it looks like Josto will confront his brother after he spent most of “Raddoppiarlo” too distracted to know what Gaetano was up to.
Other than whether Gaetano backs down or not, the big question is what the repercussions will be for Rabbi after he thwarted Gaetano’s plan to assassinate Loy’s son. Will Josto see his actions as a sign of loyalty? Will Gaetano retaliate? Will Rabbi need to protect Loy’s younger son, and will he even be able to?
Over with the Cannons, Loy looks to retaliate for the attempt on his son’s life and the robbery by Zelmare and Swanee — both of which he seems to think are connected to the Faddas. His actions may decide whether they can re-establish any semblance of peace between the two families or whether “The Pretend War” is the start of an all-out gang war.
Elsewhere, and most cryptically in the episode description, Ethelrida makes her own disturbing discovery.
It seems likely that this is related to Oraetta but could easily be about her parents or Zelmare and Swanee. Whatever it is, Ethelrida is going to be in a tough spot on “The Pretend War.”
What do you think Ethelrida will discover? Do you think Josto will maintain control of the family and salvage some peace with the Cannons?
