Spider-Noir Teaser Trailer Brings Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Verse Character Into a New Light
The Spider-Verse just got a whole lot bigger. As the endgame for Sony’s animated Spider-Verse films comes closer, there’s one series that’s taking a look back on one of the franchise’s fan-favorite characters: Spider-Noir.
Prime Video released two official teaser trailers for Spider-Noir, both in color and in black-and-white. The series will premiere on Wednesday, May 27.
Although little has been revealed about what Spider-Noir Season 1 will be about, these teaser trailers do provide a closer look at the world of this particular Spider-Man variant.

The teaser sees Ben Reilly having a recurring vision about someone important, as well as recounting his own psychological trauma to his detective friend, Robbie Robertson. There are also several scenes showing Ben trying to tame his habitual instincts and another superpowered individual out to get him.
Additionally, the Spider-Noir teaser also highlights new characters who will be important in Ben’s journey. This includes Cat Hardy, who is inspired by Black Cat, one of Spider-Man’s rivals and an antihero from time-to-time, as well as Flint Marko, who fans know as the Sandman in the comics.
According to the synopsis, Season 1 will see Ben Reilly “grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.” Whether or not it will reference the events of the Spider-Verse movies remains to be seen.
However, in terms of visual flair, all episodes of Spider-Noir will be released in both color and black-and-white, a first for Prime Video.

Nicolas Cage is set to return as the iconic Spider-Verse character after voicing Ben Reilly in the first two Spider-Verse movies. The main cast also includes Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Li Jun Li, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson.
In addition, the guest cast for Spider-Noir includes Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.
Fleabag and Killing Eve director Harry Bradbeer directed and executive produced the first two episodes.
Spider-Verse executive producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will return under Lord Miller, along with Aditya Sood and Dan Shear. Amy Pascal serves as an executive producer via Pascal Pictures. Cage and Pavlina Hatoupis also serve as executive producers.
