This week’s picks include finales for Wynonna Earp, a new P-Valley, the debut of I’m Thinking of Ending Things, and more.

MTV VMAs – Sunday, August 30

The award show dedicated to honoring the best in music videos is taking on an additional challenge this year as MTV hosts a socially distanced Video Music Awards, bringing together talent from around the world and hosted by Keke Palmer. The 2020 MTV VMAs airs Sunday, August 30 at 8/7c on MTV.

Love Fraud – Sunday, August 30

Showtime is bringing a docuseries that details the search for a man who preyed on unsuspecting women on the internet. Love Fraud debuts Sunday, August 30 at 9/8c on Showtime.

Episode Description: Tracy and Mickey’s courtship is a dizzying ride that ends with an engagement ring, but Tracy’s daughters think it’s all moving too fast and break into Mickey’s truck to find out the truth.

P-Valley – Sunday, August 30

The Pynk may be at risk, but it’s not going down without a fight as the family comes together. Will they be able to? The penultimate P-Valley airs Sunday, August 30 at 9/8c on Starz.

In the aftermath of Adrham, Hippolyta is looking for answers about George as Leti opens a boarding house with potential horrors lurking around every corner. Lovecraft Country airs Sunday, August 30 at 9/8c on HBO.

Description: Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices is a live-action collection of twelve five minute episodes featuring prominent Black celebrities and artists reading children’s books from Black authors that highlight the Black experience.

Love, Guaranteed – Thursday, September 3

Netflix’s latest rom-com stars Damon Wayans, Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook and follows an attorney finds herself with a new client that wants to sue a dating website for not setting him up with the love of his life. Love, Guaranteed debuts Thursday, September 3 on Netflix.

Movie Description: To save her small law firm, earnest lawyer Susan (Rachael Leigh Cook) takes a high-paying case from Nick (Damon Wayans Jr.), a charming new client who wants to sue a dating website that guarantees love. But as the case heats up, so do Susan and Nick’s feelings for each other.

The Sounds – Thursday, September 3

Acorn’s latest series follows a Canadian couple that moves to a small town and soon find the town is not quite as it seems. The Sounds debuts Thursday, September 3 on Acorn.

Series Description: The Sounds follows a married Canadian couple who is looking to start a new life and moves halfway around the world to an idyllic small town in New Zealand to escape the husband’s oppressive father and launch his own business venture – a sustainable salmon fishery- that will help revive the local troubled economy. But not everyone in the community welcomes the change.  When Tom Cabbott disappears after he goes out kayaking, unsettling facts about him soon come to light, and the search for him brings long-buried wounds to the surface.  As wife Maggie struggles to navigate the escalating events, it becomes clear that in this small, seemingly close-knit community of Pelorus, nothing and no one are quite what they seem. As it turns out, the couple chose the wrong town for their happy ending.

Charlie Kaufman’s latest film follows a young woman who goes on a road trip with her boyfriend to meet his parents and soon finds something unsettling happening. I’m Thinking of Ending Things drops Friday, September 4 on Netflix.

Movie Description: Despite second thoughts about their relationship, a young woman (Jessie Buckley) takes a road trip with her new boyfriend (Jesse Plemons) to his family farm. Trapped at the farm during a snowstorm with Jake’s mother (Toni Collette) and father (David Thewlis), the young woman begins to question the nature of everything she knew or understood about her boyfriend, herself, and the world.
