Preview — Lucifer Season 5 Part 1: The Devil’s Back!
Lucifer returns with its much-anticipated, new season later this month.
As you recall, Lucifer Season 4 Episode 10, “Who’s da New King of Hell,” shows Lucifer’s difficult decision of returning to Hell to keep the demons at bay. It’s a grand sacrifice for the people he cares for the most. And Season 5 Part 1 finds Lucifer’s twin brother, Michael, taking the devil’s place in LA while Lucifer’s in Hell.
Lucifer’s absence gives plenty of time for Michael to make a mess of Lucifer’s life. Eventually, Lucifer must return from Hell and face that damage. This also means Lucifer will have to confront Chloe and his feelings for her.
Then again, Lucifer left Chloe after she finally declared her love for him. Lucifer can’t blame Michael for all of his issues because that one is all him. Michael’s involvement will surely only make a bad situation worse. Doppelgängers usually have that effect.
There are plenty of questions for this season of Lucifer to answer. For example, there’s plenty to be asked about Linda and Amenadiel’s son Charlie. He is half-human and half-angel, after all. The funny and heartfelt situations that can come from having Charlie around are endless. Imagine Maze babysitting little Charlie!
There’s also the series-long question of why Chloe makes Lucifer vulnerable. Lucifer gives many potential reasons for this phenomenon. This season could be the time we learn the truth.
Assuming Lucifer does return from Hell, Lucifer could answer another question fans have been asking since Season 1: “will they or won’t they?” The answer to that question hinges on whether or not Chloe can forgive Lucifer for leaving.
There’s a possibility these questions aren’t even be answered in the 8 episodes dropping on Netflix on August 21st or the ones that follow because Lucifer has more time to tell Chloe and Lucifer’s story.
Netflix’s renewed the fan-favorite series for a sixth and final season. This means fans can enjoy Season 5 Part 1 knowing there’s plenty more to come!
