Legacies Review: Life Was So Much Easier When I Only Cared About Myself (Season 2 Episode 15)

Legacies, Reviews

Horror strikes the school on the penultimate episode of Legacies as Dark Josie crashes through the doors on her birthday, MG helps Lizzie get through a difficult decision, and Rafael finds out some troubling news on Legacies Season 2 Episode 15, “Life Was So Much Easier When I Only Cared About Myself.”

With only one episode of the season left, I can safely say that I thoroughly enjoyed this season and how everything has played out so far. I lowkey wish that Dark Josie had come around a little sooner, only to amp her inevitable death up, but I think she did a pretty good job in the short time she had to cause all the drama and evil.

The level of intensity we get to see from Josie is beyond insane. I figured she would wreak some havoc with everyone and play around a bit, but I never thought that she’d kill someone on the spot for fun. Alyssa did lock her and Lizzie in a prison world and try to kill them as well, so I can see where the resentment and hate come from, but still, it’s shocking to see it happen.

One thing for sure, Alyssa more than likely will enjoy her time with the necromancer and prefer it over death because she likes to be ruthless and evil. With the necromancer’s help, she could potentially live forever and cause whatever catastrophe she wants when she wants.

The necromancer wants to raise Malivore and control him with Josie’s dark magic, but I don’t see her continuing to help him if they raise Malivore. Josie already has enough power to do whatever she likes; with Malivore under her control, she’d be invincible and never need anyone else.

I feel bad for Lizzie because yes, even if she used not to be the best sister there was, she doesn’t deserve any of this and indeed shouldn’t have had to do the merge years in advance because of Josie’s issues with her.

I think that it’s always been a known thing that Josie is better at a lot of magic stuff than Lizzie and would more than likely win the merge, but part of me wishes that Lizzie did beat her. It was always a long shot, but I think that it would be a good thing for her to see that she can accomplish whatever she wants.

Lizzie has been working on herself and getting better day by day, but she still doesn’t believe that she’s a hero or someone that anyone could look up to. She’s always in the shadow of others at the school and feels like she doesn’t do much when it comes to saving the day, but what she doesn’t understand is sometimes just being there for someone when they need an ear or helping hand can be the most significant help.

It’s sweet that MG is there for her no matter the issue and has full trust in Lizzie because she needs someone like that in her life, even if it is someone who’s just a friend. I won’t say that I didn’t scream in excitement when she kisses him before the battle, but I’d still be okay if they stayed friends, as long as they’re there for each other.

If the necromancer can remotely control Rafael and use him to kill Landon with the golden arrow, does that also mean that’s how he’s been spying on everyone inside the school, before the little eye he has crawling around now? Either way, I’m upset that Rafael has been dead this whole time, and not one person has noticed.

Rafael has been living inside a school full of vampires and werewolves, and nobody once noticed that he didn’t have a heartbeat? None of his friends noticed when they were in close quarters with him? It’s appalling that nobody figured it out beforehand.

The golden arrow is supposed to be the only thing that can kill a phoenix, but I don’t think that Landon is going to be dead by the end of the finale. I know that shows kill off characters all the time, but his death seems premature, especially when Legacies has been confirmed for a season three, and he just learned how to tap into his abilities. There has to be more coming.
