Legacies Review: Fighting Darkness Is Kinda My Thing (Season 2 Episode 16)
Lizzie prepares to coordinate her own funeral with the help of MG, but soon realizes that she may not be able to handle how people react to her death. Meanwhile, Hope goes on a trip while inside Josie’s mind to try and free her from the dark magic on Legacies Season 2 Episode 16, “Facing Darkness Is Kinda My Thing.”
The only little complaint I have about the finale is that I was expecting there to be more action and destruction to try and rid Josie of the dark magic, but other than that, the episode is marvelous.
Hope travels around in the forest looking for Josie’s body so she can try to wake her up, not knowing that the whole time she’s talking to the pig, she’s talking to the real Josie. Instead of telling Hope from the beginning that it was her, Josie tried to be rude, so Hope would leave because she doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt.

In Josie’s mind, everything that’s happened has been her fault, and she’s tired of letting the people around her get hurt because of her. So, she set a trap in her subconscious for the wolf and disguised herself so she could hide forever and never have to let anyone else get hurt again.
One thing that Josie and Lizzie both have in common is that the merge is making them lose their minds. Josie has always been afraid of getting more powerful because she didn’t want to hurt Lizzie and that’s what she thought was happening, she felt she was becoming worse as she got stronger, but she sees now that’s not the truth.
The only person who can defeat the black magic coursing through Josie’s veins is Josie herself, and she finally figures out how to do it. From the beginning, she’s told herself that she’s weak and can’t control anything, but she’s anything but vulnerable, and in her mind, she controls what happens.
If it wasn’t for Hope risking her life to save Josie, she might never have been seen again because the darkness only grew more powerful as the time went on. She had to learn that she could be powerful and good at the same time because she thought power came with the notion that it’s more than likely bad.

Lizzie’s storyline for the episode is more sad than fun as she disguises herself as Hope and goes around the school planning her funeral, even going so far as to write her own eulogy. The problem with this big show is that Lizzie thinks she’s popular and well-liked at the school, but it turns out nobody had any good thoughts to share about Lizzie and laughed about her death.
It would be heartbreaking to have to look someone in their face and have them laugh at your death and hope you don’t come back. It could mess someone up, and even though Lizzie was letting it get to her, in the end, she forgets about the one person who will always stand up for her: MG.
MG makes his statement about Lizzie before she can take the Hope disguise off and give everyone a piece of what she thinks. He goes on about how the whole decided it was okay to classify Lizzie as a nutcase because she was going through some things awhile back. They never allowed her to change or change how they look at her after that, and he’s, rightfully, guilt-tripping them into realizing that they let her down as well.
My favorite moment from the finale is Lizzie reading MG his own eulogy because he’s a vampire who lives forever and may never get one, so she wanted to make sure his was done right. MG has always been there for Lizzie, and it’s a wonderous moment for her to realize it and see him for all that he is because he’s always reminded her to find a light and keep moving forward.

I don’t know what’s going to happen to Raf now that he’s murdered Landon because he’s never going to get over it. He’s never going to forgive himself, which is why he attacks Alaric and attempts to make him kill Raf with the sword Ric brought.
I want to think that Raf will stay at the school while they try to figure out why he isn’t coming back when Raf, Alyssa, and Chad have all been released from the necromancers captivity, but I think there’s a good possibility that he’ll leave because he can’t handle it.
Josie is back in the real world again, and the last thing we see is her putting her siphoning powers into a coin that she throws in her piggy bank because she doesn’t want to hurt anyone and is afraid of getting too powerful again. However, if the black magic was successfully removed and given to the necromancer, there should be no reason for her to remove her powers.
I would rate this season, overall, as a 9.5/10 and can’t wait to see what amazing things are in store for Season 3.
