A Million Little Things Review: ‘Til Death Do Us Part (Season 2 Episode 19)
Fair warning to all readers, there is almost nothing joyful about A Million Little Things Season 2 Episode 19, “’til death do us part.”
Any fan of the show knows that the word “death” in the title is never a good omen. We were just hoping for one huge heartbreak. Two is a lot for everyone to take.
One could argue that if you don’t like your TV with a generous handful of devastation, this isn’t the show for you. While this is a valid point, I don’t like the outcome of storylines forecasted to me.
It doesn’t take good eyesight to see Eddie’s accident and Eve’s decision coming from miles away. One can also predict, with a fair amount of certainty, that Eddie’s not going to die.

David Giuntoli is the first-billed actor on A Million Little Things. It’s a pretty straightforward ensemble cast and there is always a chance he’s going to leave, but it’s doubtful.
The real mystery behind the accident has nothing to do with Eddie’s life or death. It’s about who is in the car.
Does someone hit him so he doesn’t come close to remembering the truth about Alex’s death? After all, Eddie now knows he was there and that his drunkenness played a part in it.
Here’s the problem — viewers don’t care what happened the night Alex died because we barely know who Alex is, let alone have any emotional connection to the night she died.

There is always a chance that more information will be revealed in the future to encourage us to care. For now, however, this whole plot is a huge misstep.
There are not enough hugs or glasses of wine to prepare Katherine for the pain she’s about to endure, regardless of whether Eddie lives or dies. She’s the only person in this story who matters right now.
The mess with Eve is predictable from the moment we meet her. It may be unclear as to why or how we know, but it’s obvious Rome and Regina aren’t going to go home with that baby.

Christina Moses and Romany Malco are brilliant in the scene where they come home from the hospital and see all of the lonely baby things.
We know this couple’s history. So when Regina pushes Rome away and says, “You made me want this,” it’s absolutely soul-crushing. We’ve seen Regina’s transformation from someone who didn’t want kids at all to someone whose heart is wide open to love a baby.
It’s not fair to anyone. The fact that Eve only feels ready to raise this child because of the help Rome and Regina have given her just adds salt to the womb.

It’s one thing to hope A Million Little Things pivots into an unexpected, yet equally dramatic direction. But if you dropped your glass of wine about it — what show have you been watching?
The predictability of it all weakens “’til death do us part” and we can’t even exclude Gary and Maggie from that statement. Separation makes the most sense for them right now and Gary has a right to be frustrated by Maggie’s timing.
A car crash is always hard to watch, but even if your jaw is on the floor at the end of this episode, there’s nothing too interesting to wonder about through hiatus.
It’s a shame A Million Little Things chooses to lean into “shocking” twists that fail. It’s capable of better.
A Million Little Thoughts:
- I still like Gary and Darcy.
- I also like Delilah and Miles, but it’s so weird that both kids try to hit on their mom’s boyfriend.
- Theo can’t pull off a “suck it” line in any universe.
- All of the flashback scenes are done well.
- It’s ridiculous that Rome and Regina want to name their son Jon. They have better imaginations. But also, A Million Little Things wants us to care about Jon so much… it’s exhausting.
