Preview — Stumptown Season 1 Episode 8: The Other Woman
Stumptown Season 1 Episode 8, “The Other Woman,” is delving back into Dex’s past as she takes on a case involving Benny’s widow.
Given that what happened to Benny over 12 years ago has shaped who Dex is and prevented her, until recently, from moving forward with her life we can expect her to be an emotional mess as she works this case. Complicating matters for Dex is that she is hired by Sue Lynn who always brings even more emotional baggage into the equation.
While it looks like it will be a tough case for Dex, for viewers more time exploring Dex’s trauma as well her relationship with Sue Lynn and her family is something to look forward to.
The brief moments we’ve gotten between Sue Lynn and Dex have hinted at what could be one of the most complex and interesting dynamics of the show, but as of yet hasn’t really been explored. “The Other Woman” is hopefully a chance to start developing Sue Lynn and her relationship with Dex more fully.
It also seems there will be some obligatory Grey/Dex angst and according to the promo a game-changing coupling by the end. The promo would lead you to believe that it’s Dex and Grey sleeping together but hopefully, that’s not it.
Hopefully, that’s just a red herring and the writers have something more interesting in store for the end of the episode.

Episode description: Dex is confronted with unresolved feelings from her past when she is hired by Sue Lynn to investigate a case with the widow of Dex’s former flame. Meanwhile, Dex and Grey’s friendship is put to the test by his new romance with Liz.
